Dec 01 07:07:34 oh hi Dec 01 07:07:48 sorry you still there amitk? Dec 01 14:00:14 ogra, asac: I'm writing an email summarizing my research and thoughts on the UDS session we had on debootstrap/qemu-arm; I was writing this as an email to you two, should I send it to some ML instead? Dec 01 14:00:41 I'm not sure ubuntu-mobile@ is good for this, and people might lack context, but I would also like this to be archived so that I can point to it during discussions Dec 01 14:04:29 ogra_: 15:00 < lool> ogra, asac: I'm writing an email summarizing my research and thoughts on the UDS session we had on debootstrap/qemu-arm; I was writing this as an email to you two, should I send it to some ML instead? Dec 01 14:04:33 15:00 < lool> I'm not sure ubuntu-mobile@ is good for this, and people might lack context, but I would also like this to be archived so that I can point to it during discussions Dec 01 14:05:17 hmm, i was planning to put a TODO item for that into the spec Dec 01 14:05:19 probably just add it to the wikipage ? Dec 01 14:06:56 Ok Dec 01 14:25:02 asac: wrt mobile-lucid-arm-lib-tests, the issues I'm running into are mainly poor/out of date documentation and the way the system is designed. Each test build requires the LSB build environment, which is a set of library stubs. This is generated partially from a database of functions. I just got the mysql database up and running (poor documentation) on my desktop, need to get my dove to connect to it. Dec 01 14:26:54 After I get database connectivity, I need to figure out how to populate the database with info on arm. Right now it has none. Once I get that, there is a script in the build_env source tree to generate new code for arm. Dec 01 14:26:55 GrueMaster: right. Dec 01 14:27:10 sounds like a plan Dec 01 14:27:20 remember to document what you do to setup etc. Dec 01 14:27:43 Heh, yea. Dec 01 14:27:43 in that way if you get blocked we can have someone else helping you ;) Dec 01 14:27:43 without much communication Dec 01 14:27:57 this is an important spec for us ... Dec 01 14:28:35 I already have an email in to the linux foundation and key developers of LSB. I hope to hear from them this week. Dec 01 14:29:25 GrueMaster: maybe add progress and things we are waiting for to the whiteboard too Dec 01 14:29:29 thanks Dec 01 14:30:02 I could, but it is mostly trial and error at this point. Dec 01 14:30:33 GrueMaster: right. what i meant was: asked XXX for clarification; waiting for reply ... Dec 01 14:30:38 so we know that we are waiting for something Dec 01 14:30:42 but do it like you prefer Dec 01 14:30:43 ;) Dec 01 14:30:47 Part of the problem is that while I can get a daily snapshot of their database, they are using an old version of mysql. Dec 01 14:30:56 we will review this spec at least weekly ;) Dec 01 14:31:00 I'd rather not say I'm waiting for them. Dec 01 14:31:34 I prefer to continue hacking at this while waiting for them. That way I'm still making some progress. Dec 01 14:31:41 GrueMaster: have you found/documented the source trees by now? Dec 01 14:31:55 Yes, I think I have. let me check. Dec 01 14:32:50 The only link I don't have is for the ABI tests, and any other tests we may add/replace. Dec 01 14:33:00 lool: the idea was to document your qemu approach somewhere ... either mailing list or even in the spec Dec 01 14:33:31 GrueMaster: add what you have for now. and maybe split those things in separate work items ;) Dec 01 14:33:35 But the ABI test is a simple script that compares the old libs with the new ones. Dec 01 14:33:42 Ok. Dec 01 14:33:44 so we can document that there is progress ;) Dec 01 14:33:54 thanks Dec 01 14:33:59 ok have to do lunch and stuff Dec 01 14:34:03 will be back in 1h or so Dec 01 14:34:34 lunch is a good idea ! Dec 01 14:34:57 I have a dental appoinment in 2.5 hours. Dec 01 14:42:58 asac: Yeah that's why I was wondering where Dec 01 14:43:13 asac: But I didn't think of the wiki and will copy that to the wiki now that I finished typing it Dec 02 00:19:34 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/487979 Dec 02 00:19:36 jerone-mobile: Error: This bug is private Dec 02 00:19:54 ubot4, wrong channel Dec 02 00:19:54 Factoid 'wrong channel' not found Dec 02 00:19:56 ubot4, sorry about that Dec 02 00:19:56 jerone-mobile: Error: I am only a bot, please don't think I'm intelligent :) Dec 02 01:39:15 hello Dec 02 01:39:20 any one know ETM 3.2? What's ETM anyway? Dec 02 02:01:56 Embedded Trace Macrocell Dec 02 02:08:01 ok, figured it was but was but wanted to make sure. I'm guessing most people here aren't working with tools that low level Dec 02 02:08:21 you might be better off asking in a group related to the specific SoC you're trying to debug Dec 02 02:09:36 where i can find this on irc u think? Dec 02 02:13:09 depends. what chip are you working on? Dec 02 02:13:30 it is arm11 cutome one Dec 02 02:13:34 it is like omap Dec 02 02:14:21 custom? so your own soc? Dec 02 02:14:47 it is not mine **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Dec 02 02:59:57 2009
