Sep 09 06:44:22 https://gist.github.com/a217a3d76dd550ba822b Sep 09 12:45:43 Hello! I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 server image (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04/release/ubuntu-12.04-preinstalled-server-armhf+omap.img.gz) on BeagleBoard XM C1. I've like to know how can I extend it to gui. I installed lubuntu-desktop package but tty7 is blank and it always boot to tty1 Sep 09 12:46:09 s/I've/I'd like to know* Sep 09 19:50:10 infinity, I found some mislicensed files in the armadaxp kernel. So we'll wait till there's a new upload, the current one can sit in the PPA only for now :) Sep 09 19:50:37 'all rights reserved' as you suggested was the right pattern to search for Sep 09 20:11:49 Hello! I've installed ubuntu-server image on BeagleBoard XM C1. I'd like to know how I can get gui. Installing lubuntu-desktop package is failing with blank screen on tty7 and booting always stop on tty1 Sep 09 20:13:06 And, what is the difference between arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc and gcc-arm-linux-gnueabi ? Sep 09 20:17:55 no real difference Sep 09 20:18:34 debian/buntu use 3-part triplets for compiler names. Others (upstream, code sourcery) often use 4-part 'triplets' Sep 09 20:19:00 the 'none' is nominally the vendor Sep 09 20:19:30 I'd guess your desktop isn;t working due to video device driver issues, but I've no idea which packages you need Sep 09 20:25:53 wookey: I've the following setup for display. BB > HDMI > HDMI to DVI-D adapter > DVI-D compatible monitor. I downloaded and install ubuntu-server image for ARM following Ubuntu ARM wiki page. On boot, on both serial terminal and monitor, I get tty1 login. Later, I installed lubuntu-desktop package and restarted, it still didn't work always reverting back to tty1. Sep 09 20:26:18 Then, after installing xserver-video-omap3 pacakge(if I remember the name right), it behaved in same manner. Is there anything I'm missing? Sep 09 20:36:51 Well lastly, how can I DSP support if I try ubuntu-desktop preinstalled images for ARM on BeagleBoard XM C1? Sep 09 20:50:08 * RoyK is using a standard Ubuntu Precise on his Pandaboard and it works ok Sep 09 21:07:46 Hi RoyK, Is there a DSP on Pandaboard? Did you try anything which requires using DSP on the board? Sep 09 23:17:44 hmm orated left. Oh well Sep 09 23:30:08 does somebody know why "allow-hotplug" support is removed in ubuntu?
