**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Wed Apr 25 02:59:58 2012 Apr 25 05:21:29 I'm working with a touchpad that's pin locked and I don't have the pin code. I saw the bypass pin lock patch in webos quick install. I thouht I might use that but then I realized I need to put the device in developer mode before I can apply the patch... Do I just have to wipe it? Apr 25 05:23:43 Thing is I want to finish as soon as possible but the device is charging on .25 amp charger, and it's taking ages for the battery to reach 25% so i can wipe it. Apr 25 05:43:41 csplinter: wiping it with doctor would be the easiest way, booting an installer image with novacom boot mem , mounting the filesystems and touching the file that enables dev mode would be less destructive to data on it but is a bit more advanced Apr 25 05:45:03 there's a java program palm makes called devicetool.jar that will help you put it into dev mode easily but it hasn't been updated for touchpad and lacks the proper kernel for touchpad in the jar, so that would need to be fixed Apr 25 05:45:28 in other words, any of these ways will take a bit of work and some technical skill Apr 25 05:45:37 except just doctoring it :) Apr 25 05:48:22 csplinter: hmm actually I guess someone has updated devicetool.jar for touchpad for you Apr 25 05:48:29 yea, it charged enough to doctor it before any of that could be done Apr 25 05:48:38 i tracked down a 1amp charger Apr 25 05:48:47 ah cool :) Apr 25 05:48:51 problem solved :-) good to know for future reference though Apr 25 05:49:10 hey destinal Apr 25 05:49:32 PatrickC: hey Apr 25 05:52:23 hows it goni? Apr 25 05:52:25 goin* Apr 25 12:48:34 Hi Apr 25 12:49:00 Has any one else tried to build doom with sb2? Apr 25 12:49:25 using this guide http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Building_DOOM_with_scratchbox2 Apr 25 12:49:54 I got as far as "make -C libsdl ARCH=armv7 stage" Apr 25 12:50:19 compiler hangs on "checking for thread implementation... posix" Apr 25 12:51:15 Couldn't find any solutions else where Apr 25 14:13:31 cd .. Apr 25 14:14:13 erm, remoth if you're still there: yeah it seems like doom builds find here Apr 25 14:14:41 fine* Apr 25 14:14:45 You're building the FPS doom?!? Apr 25 14:14:59 that's what he asked Apr 25 14:15:09 not sure if it's playable I don't see what controls I would use Apr 25 14:15:14 Sweet! Apr 25 14:15:24 gyroscope? Apr 25 14:15:25 well.. it's like the example they give for widk Apr 25 14:46:16 Just building to learn Apr 25 14:46:21 not to play Apr 25 14:46:24 really Apr 25 14:46:30 I think problem is qemu Apr 25 14:50:50 Ubuntu 12.04 Final release date: April 26th 2012 Apr 25 14:51:20 so hopefully new version qemu works Apr 25 15:04:22 * PatrickC is running 12.04 right now Apr 25 15:24:50 technically, you're running a 12.04 beta right now. Officially, something may change between the version you're running, and the final release Apr 25 15:45:51 well I'm using 12.04 as my WIDK machine and built doom with no trouble shrug... Apr 25 15:46:35 I'm not suggesting it's trouble Apr 25 15:47:00 I think remoth was :) Apr 25 15:47:01 just that it's arguably not "running 12.04", because 12.04 doesn't officially exist yet Apr 25 15:47:09 oh Apr 25 15:47:11 >_ Apr 25 15:47:14 >_> * Apr 25 15:47:15 but I just noticed he's gone Apr 25 15:47:17 anyhow Apr 25 15:47:31 reading is hard Apr 25 15:47:40 ubuntu beta to realease is a rolling update process anyway Apr 25 15:47:47 and it goes on after release Apr 25 15:47:52 so what is 12.04 officially really Apr 25 15:51:16 I still don't get the obsession with ubuntu... Apr 25 15:51:34 what I don't get is why people see an obsession there Apr 25 15:53:56 anyhow, why Ubuntu is popular: it was basically debian with a nice interface and up-to-date-but-not-unstable packages, so a very good thing. So people switched to it. Now everyone is used to it, so getting people to switch out of it won't happen without a very compelling reason. Just like any software really. Apr 25 16:33:13 Lazar_Dobrescu: cool, people are still following my doom example, glad to see it's instructive to people re WIDK Apr 25 16:34:17 Lazar_Dobrescu: let me know if you run into any issues with any of that stuff on the wiki, it's not likely to have been edited / updated much recently Apr 25 16:36:43 dull question, but is there a way in which i can find the sqlite databases of all the apps on my phone? it's just for fun, so nothing important (if the sqlite databases always have a fixed name, then i can easily find them on the cli) Apr 25 17:01:19 madnificent, is that really you? :P Apr 25 20:24:28 PatrickC_Away: yes, it was really me! but with an attention span of 10 seconds, i was out of the house before looking at responses. sorry everyone!!!! Apr 25 20:24:34 i'm still interested in the answer though Apr 25 22:56:12 looks like the databases have a .db name by default. that's cool **** ENDING LOGGING AT Thu Apr 26 03:00:00 2012
