So I'm back to comparing the version that works and the one that doesn't, both using the very same linker. Right now I'm comparing build options, in case it would have changed... Feb 16 07:51:57 Herrie: I now have a new lead for my crashes. But then I'm not at home :p Feb 16 09:07:31 Ah, seems the build options changed a bit (-pthread instead of -lpthread, c++ build with libstdc++ linking...). That's a little clue. Feb 16 11:17:42 morning Feb 16 11:17:46 JaMa: ping Feb 16 11:34:13 pong Feb 16 11:35:27 JaMa: There's a PR for meta-webos-ports that can be merged (tested for krogoth). Feb 16 11:35:42 Can you merge it to master & krogoth? Feb 16 11:44:53 the one about qtbase? ok will do Feb 16 11:45:25 Yeah Feb 16 14:21:45 I'm looking at the issues with using libhybris patched for Android 6 compat with CM11/12.1 HAL. Feb 16 14:22:21 Has the suggestion been raised before to migrate the base to at least CM13? Feb 16 14:23:14 I think the patches rely upon other bits of Marshmallow, hence the problems with the lower HAL version. Feb 16 14:23:45 linux_unix-10: I did try this for the Nexus 5 a little bit Feb 16 14:24:26 How'd that go? Feb 16 14:25:29 It went pretty well, execpt for hwcomposer where I had strange GL issues (crashes, artefacts...); as there is no real need for CM13 on this device, I just went back to CM12.1 for now. Feb 16 14:26:29 We don't have a strong need for the updated libhybris right now, until we have to support CM13 Feb 16 14:26:56 linux_unix-10: ... which you're going to need, if I'm right ? :) Feb 16 14:27:14 Yep. Feb 16 14:28:00 To be fair, updating to CM13 would unlock many potential devices while keeping most of the current devices supported. Feb 16 14:28:09 The build recipes are very flexible anyway, so it's completely possible to have older libhybris for some devices, and newer for other ones. You don't need to wait for us to fix libhybris on CM12.1 for rinstance. Feb 16 14:28:52 If I'm not mistaken, the HP Touchpad has a CM13 build as an example; Correct me if that is wrong. Feb 16 14:29:11 I'm intending on fixing anyway for CM12.1, but I just don't know how much time it'll take to get to the bottom of it Feb 16 14:29:32 No, the TP is still on a CM11 build Feb 16 14:31:08 It is a bit of a particular case: HP modified android headers to fit their needs, so it's not a standard Android API they're using. Therefore we can't use an overlay on top of a normal installation. So the overlay we use is actually a whole minimalist CM build, and we don't use any other Android install bits. Feb 16 14:31:25 Anyway the TP works fine this way, there's no need to upgrade it today. Feb 16 19:34:00 Herrie: https://github.com/webOS-ports/meta-webos-ports/pull/212 <-- fix to be confirmed on other devices (mako & maguro) Feb 16 19:36:03 for hammerhead the status is now pretty good: sensors is now working again, ofono is now behaving, we still have wifi and sound. The only thing to fix now is bluetooth :) Feb 16 19:37:20 ah, and it seems gps works too :p Feb 16 20:02:57 I just remarked we can't call a number from the call history... What were we thinking ? :) Feb 16 20:45:17 Tofe: Nice :D Feb 16 20:45:32 Well we don't have HW GPS hooked up, only Google/Mozilla via WiFi :P Feb 16 20:45:55 Tofe: I might want to give Morty a try again then :D Feb 16 20:51:36 Herrie: what is your opinion about this PR ? should we merge it, start a build, and then test the maguro & mako images? Feb 16 20:52:02 That means potentially a rollback it a catastrophy happens Feb 16 21:26:12 Tofe: Yeah that's fine we can do that Feb 16 21:27:10 Tofe: Running ;) **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Feb 17 03:00:00 2017
