**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Jul 23 03:00:01 2018 Jul 23 10:13:33 My A1 has arrived. It's a bit hard to tell as it is inside a nailed shut wooden sarcophagus, but I don't know what else this could be. Jul 23 10:41:55 I also received a package today -- but I don't know what it is yet :p Jul 23 12:56:10 Morning! Jul 23 12:56:15 I guess I got one waiting for me too Jul 23 12:57:41 DHL guy called me, was awaiting some package from Germany, but he said he had a "wooden box" Jul 23 12:57:48 So I guess it's the A1 too :P Jul 23 13:00:21 Moved 3 vans full of stuff during the weekend & drilled all sockets that needed to be drilled so was a very productive weekend :P Jul 23 13:14:36 hehe, moving to new house already? Jul 23 13:15:07 JaMa: Well Mrs is gone with little ones till 2nd week of September while I prepare the house. Jul 23 13:15:14 So moved everything we don't need at the apartment already Jul 23 13:15:33 So can oil the floors there, make it perfect sell-able state etc :P Jul 23 13:15:42 Just so clutter is gone and only left the bare necessary ;) Jul 23 13:15:58 When they come back we'll be another 2 or so weeks at the apartment then move to the house Jul 23 13:16:03 At least that's the plan Jul 23 13:16:07 Still a lot to do Jul 23 13:30:03 nice vacation :) Jul 23 13:32:29 For them yes ;) For me lots of work :P Jul 23 16:30:28 a wooden box ! wow ! Jul 23 16:30:45 How do I open that ... a crossbar ?... Jul 23 16:47:32 Tofe: I can lend you some tools :P Jul 23 16:47:34 Got plenty here :P Jul 23 16:51:29 It went smoothly with a flat screwdriver :) Jul 23 16:55:03 So, where's that recovery... Jul 23 17:21:00 bootloop :) Jul 23 17:25:19 Herrie: I think your flashing kind of erased recovery Jul 23 17:25:46 (which makes sense, but isn't very handy) Jul 23 17:30:37 But hey! We get some logs already https://bpaste.net/show/9a3febf29131 Jul 23 17:33:15 userdata partition is still encrypted it seems, or something like that Jul 23 18:02:13 the A1 came in a Wooden Box Jul 23 18:07:22 ka6sox-away: same here... I was a bit amazed :) If the planed crashed in the ocean, the box sure would have been found & delivered ! Jul 23 18:07:31 -d Jul 23 18:08:09 I just hope they don't send all their packages like that :p Jul 23 18:11:08 Herrie: we have a little inconsistency in our luneos image: either we don't encrypt userdata and therefore don't pass 'root=/dev/dm-0 dm="system none ro,0 1 android-verity /dev/mmcblk0p26" ' to the kernel, or let it encrypted but change the boot option to take dm-0 as the userdata partition Jul 23 18:11:39 s/boot option/halium boot option/ Jul 23 18:28:20 Tofe: You having fun already? I thought there would be an unlocking process to go through? Jul 23 18:39:42 elvispre: the unlocking process on an Android One is simple: boot to fastboot (Vol- + Power), then in a shell do "fastboot unlock oem" et voilĂ  Jul 23 18:41:21 The recovery stuff is much more annoying to manage: there isn't any "recovery" partition anymore with the A/B partition scheme. Just boot_a and boot_b. So what recovery does is to wrap the A1's kernel with its own boot image, and replace it in boot_* Jul 23 18:41:52 which means, when we flash LuneOS's kernel onto boot_a... we erase the recovery that was there. Jul 23 18:41:56 Tofe: Oh, OK. That's cool. Jul 23 18:43:46 ...and more risky. OK. I shall be careful. Jul 23 18:44:35 elvispre: well there's always the possibility to boot in fastboot mode and boot recovery from there Jul 23 18:45:24 should be pretty difficult to brick completely Jul 23 20:53:25 I find myself a little mystified... Jul 23 20:53:56 Do we provide our kernel with a device tree? Jul 23 20:55:03 Our kernel image format is zImage-dtb but it is not very obvious where the dtb part comes from if it exists at all. Jul 23 21:04:50 I guess the wooden box is to allow shipping lithium-ion batteries with DHL via plane. I cannot think of another reason :-P Jul 23 21:05:12 Good thought! Jul 23 21:05:15 Tofe: We normally format the userdata so the dm1 is gone? Jul 23 21:05:36 And the encryption as well? Jul 23 21:05:55 At least I did on my mido and elvispre on onyx as well I guess Jul 23 21:06:37 I don't know if I did that onyx. Jul 23 21:07:28 I did run fastboot oem unlock on it. That wiped all userdata so it might well have removed encryption in doing so. Jul 23 21:14:05 I think it does that Jul 23 21:14:07 Also not sure Jul 23 21:14:21 I just did the steps I showed you :P Jul 23 21:14:27 Which I found with some Google Fu :P Jul 23 21:14:32 :-) **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Jul 24 03:00:00 2018
