Aug 23 15:49:42 <madnificent> GodGinrai: to be fair: no.  i fully disagree.  there are loads of editors that throw a smokescreen indicating that they are 'great text editor'.  and they are *not*.  granted, i never tried customizing eclipse to the level i tried customizing emacs or vim.  however, when i see many coders program in their 'oh so awesome text editor', i see them moving their hands to the arrow keys.  THE ARROW KEYS?!  my god, how much effort
Aug 23 15:49:42 <madnificent> putting into getting the most mindnumbingly boring tasks done?  how idiotic can you get.  it's just one of the tiny things, but an editor that didn't even get that right really doesn't deserve to be used.  those exact same text editors have these other great features like having a single copy/paste store, just one element.  why on earth would i want to have one element?!  who made that up?  WHY ARE THEY SLOWING US ALL DOWN?
Aug 23 15:49:42 <madnificent> don't know jack-shit about editors, i'd appreciate it if you didn't build yet another one.  and in the same line goes this:  there are 10000 idiotic text editors around and say 20 decent ones (accounting some versions of VI/VIm and Emacs/XEmacs).  so as long as you don't make explicit that the choice of a traditional text editor is teh bork, most will stay inefficient.  so no, it's not good enough in my opinion that people
