**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sat Jul 29 03:00:01 2017 Jul 29 05:12:25 quit Jul 29 07:17:15 Hello there, I have a question. I am doing a core-image-minimal build, and I notice cdrtools-native is being build. Jul 29 07:17:25 I have no interest in it. Jul 29 07:17:35 should I blacklist it in some way? Jul 29 07:17:50 I see it comes from openembedded-core Jul 29 07:18:38 same goes for alsa, and many others. Jul 29 07:37:10 Well, thanks, I will get back at a better time :) Jul 29 11:11:43 always nice when a obvious patch causes a hilarious failure on the autobuilder Jul 29 14:01:49 rburton: the latest patchset has re2c checksum issues fixed, Jul 29 14:02:00 yeah that bits in next already Jul 29 14:02:10 rburton: did you pick the versions I posted last night Jul 29 14:02:13 yes Jul 29 14:02:16 see ross/mut Jul 29 14:02:30 ok good. No I believe you :) Jul 29 14:02:44 rburton: btw. llvmpipe works now Jul 29 14:02:57 was looking forward to trying llvmpipe inside a qemu :) Jul 29 14:03:10 I tested lightly with sato image on qemux86 Jul 29 14:03:23 assigned 8 cores to qemu Jul 29 14:03:31 and ran glxgears Jul 29 14:03:54 just need llvm to build here ;) Jul 29 14:03:56 got 30fps IIRC Jul 29 14:04:10 rburton: you asked for trouble, I am sorry :) Jul 29 14:04:54 I am impressed with ninja especially for incremental builds when fixing llvm Jul 29 14:05:03 it picks up exactly where the build broke Jul 29 14:05:13 and is quite fast Jul 29 14:05:32 people should stop doing fancy new build systems Jul 29 14:07:24 my touch area with ninja-based projects is mostly with random google stuff and those generally tend to be real weird with things so that has left me rather sour on it (which might not be ninja's fault at all) Jul 29 14:08:30 JEEB: all of them suck in some ways, I agree Jul 29 14:08:41 but we could fix the existing ones Jul 29 14:09:27 khem: are you suggesting to fix autoconf? Jul 29 14:09:33 well, autotools Jul 29 14:09:48 autoconf seems to have a problem with maintainer Jul 29 14:10:05 changing automake to actually write ninja files would be amazingly funny Jul 29 14:10:32 :D Jul 29 14:10:50 too bad such a work-out most likely would seem like more effort to just NIH'ing it all Jul 29 14:10:58 *than just Jul 29 14:10:58 yeah Jul 29 14:11:12 i'm quitely hopeful that meson matures nicely Jul 29 14:11:36 yea, I've taken a brief look at that but not yet at the point where I'd choose it for any of my own stuff Jul 29 14:11:58 it was positive that it wasn't making usage of pkg-config overcomplicated though Jul 29 14:19:34 rburton: meson has issues of its own Jul 29 14:20:46 gnome project also has NIH syndrome Jul 29 14:22:53 hopefully it will fix introspection cross builds that will be a victory Jul 29 14:23:13 they have made a DSL based on python which is quite nice Jul 29 14:23:27 which means we can write neat plugins Jul 29 15:43:41 rburton: fixed llvm tblgen issue and push to kraj/llvm pull branch please drop the v1 patch from your list and take ones from branch Jul 30 02:41:30 Has anyone tried to build/package against fftw? When I try to do_rootfs for an image, I get "could not invoke dnf" because of "conflicting requests" since "nothing provides fftw". It suggests adding "--allowerasing" to replace the conflicting package, but I've not seen this before in Morty or Krogoth (trying to update to Pyro). **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sun Jul 30 03:00:01 2017
