**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Nov 21 03:00:00 2017 Nov 21 03:44:42 New news from stackoverflow: Double path issue on install of glib for arm Nov 21 06:55:29 Hey Guys! :) Nov 21 07:00:36 Yocto Noob here. I have a relatively simple question but dont know where to start working on. A coworker engineers a custom made cap touch keyboard and I have to attach it as the custom keyboard for a SBC running yocto. I thought about "inputattach" using sunkbd but it seems very complicated to get this to work. Anybody may have an idea how to get this to work without to complex mechanisms, as I just started working with Yocto Nov 21 07:00:53 I would highly appreciate any input :) Nov 21 10:05:03 hello, I wanted to add this WEBENGINE_CONFIG+=use_proprietary_codecs under qmake from this recipe file https://github.com/meta-qt5/meta-qt5/blob/master/recipes-qt/qt5/qtwebengine_git.bb Nov 21 10:05:15 what is right way to do it. Nov 21 10:32:16 For those who wants inputattach, i created a recipe (training purpose) here https://github.com/nefethael/meta-random/tree/master/recipes-linuxconsoletools/linuxconsoletools It's untested Nov 21 10:56:18 maxin: there? Nov 21 10:59:25 rburton: yes Nov 21 11:00:23 maxin: the du patch broke the ab quite badly, guessing image size calculations are not the same and the images are getting made too small. just emailed links to logs Nov 21 11:01:12 rburton: ah, ok.. Nov 21 11:45:55 New news from stackoverflow: DEBUG: Executing shell function do_compile_dtbs | make: *** No rule to make target 'dtbs'. Nov 21 12:57:17 lukeer: hi did you find a solution for your serial kb ? Nov 21 13:00:33 lukeer: i made a recipe for inputattach if you need: https://github.com/nefethael/meta-random/tree/master/recipes-linuxconsoletools/linuxconsoletools Nov 21 14:45:42 zeddii: good news - that ppc hang I kept talking about is resolved to a qemu bug :) Nov 21 14:45:58 armpit2: I've merged morty, thanks Nov 21 15:16:29 New news from stackoverflow: Yocto / Bitbake: How to do something with every binary build by the system? Nov 21 15:27:02 nayfe Nov 21 15:27:24 pong :) Nov 21 15:27:28 nayfe: It's no longer clear that I will need inputattach. Nov 21 15:28:12 Customer now wants something that's not a typical keyboard job. So I doubt that the sunkbd driver will support that. Nov 21 15:29:10 But it's not finaly decided. However, thank you very much. I'll bookmark that just in case demands change once again. Nov 21 15:30:12 dear customers :) Nov 21 16:04:29 Hello all. Where abouts in the poky image do the kernel paramaters for U-Boot live? Nov 21 16:04:37 I'd like to pass a few into the kernel at boot Nov 21 16:11:58 : hi, do you use extlinux ? (UBOOT_EXTLINUX) Nov 21 16:45:54 RP, thanks Nov 21 16:46:46 armpit: I'm trying to sort the publish artefacts issue that occured on morty, then we could have a morty release build? Nov 21 16:49:19 k Nov 21 16:51:12 RP I do have a large number of patches I need to export to community for morty. I plan on putting them in a contrib branch. maybe they will hit morty proper once pyro gets sorted Nov 21 16:56:35 armpit: worth holding up a build of morty for? Nov 21 17:25:39 nayfe I don't believe I do Nov 21 17:26:28 oni: which arch/machine do you have ? Nov 21 17:27:18 imx28evk Nov 21 17:27:31 I believe its an NXP arm device Nov 21 17:28:22 I'm attempting to get the framebuffer to work, so I can spit out some graphics. I figure I need to pass some VGA like kernel params at boot Nov 21 17:36:58 indeed, there are several ways to pass u-boot kernel bootargs. you can have a custom kernel defconfig with fixed cmdline, you can customize u-boot to add some bootargs variable or append your vga stuff Nov 21 17:39:56 bitbake core-image-minimal hungs at the end, in do_rootfs... seems a 'rpm' process is stuck. tried deleting the rootfs, no luck. Anyone has any clue how to proceed? Nov 21 17:47:01 paulg, blame me. Is it annoying you? Nov 21 18:04:51 Crofton, no - not really annoying ; I just noticed the difference and wondered what happened. Nov 21 18:05:59 I'm not sure it will deliver extra people helping with yocto questions though... Nov 21 18:09:15 paulg: I have looked a couple fwiw, I find it interesting Nov 21 18:11:02 RP, you clearly have too much free time on your hands. ;-) Nov 21 18:12:11 paulg: or like distractions... Nov 21 18:14:39 I've looked at some Nov 21 18:14:43 and the rate isn't bad Nov 21 18:15:01 it is good for people to see what kind of questions come up Nov 21 18:15:12 gives us feedback about real stuff people try Nov 21 18:18:50 jerks. Now I'm feeling compelled to click on the next one. ;-) Nov 21 18:20:50 well, maybe not that one. :) Nov 21 18:28:29 nayfe thanks :) I'll hunt around some more and find the best option Nov 21 18:28:37 I just hope it fixes the lack of screen :) Nov 21 18:28:37 cheers Nov 21 19:17:17 New news from stackoverflow: how to build the squidguard recipe in open embedded core Nov 21 19:53:48 oni: for debugging purpose, you can just stop uboot at start and type something like setenv bootargs 'console= root=... vga=....' then boot Nov 21 20:10:46 nayfe oh that I didnt know, but the bootup sequence is pretty fast and I just have a serial console :/ Nov 21 20:11:08 Good tip though, thanks Nov 21 20:11:57 oni: if you spam space key it will probably stop it :p **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Nov 22 03:00:00 2017
