**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Nov 01 03:00:00 2018 Nov 01 12:15:48 We have an embeeded system that its whole SW (image) is produced by yocto and it PPC based. A subset of this SW runs also in a standard Linux Distro like Debian in x86 and is also produced via that machine. Is there an easy way to use also yocto to produce an x86 image that could be mounted on that distro and run our SW. What I am asking is there an easy to way to replicate / simulate that's distro rootfs via yocto so all libraries much a Nov 01 13:14:46 Hi. After having done a kernel build, is there a way to get a hold of the vmlinux, besides unpacking the ipk/rpm/deb under deploy/ ? Nov 01 13:17:22 kroon: the build dir Nov 01 13:18:07 work//build Nov 01 13:19:02 I use "rm_work" so build dir is usually wiped. I was hoping there was some oe util that would extract vmlinux from sstate or something like that.. Nov 01 13:22:09 I would like to define a set of applications which will end up in the opkg feed but are not be included in any images. Is there a better way than just running "bitbake $package1 $package2 ... && bitbake package-index"? Nov 01 13:22:42 henriknj, I can do "oe-pkgdata-util list-pkg-files kernel-vmlinux", to list it.. but not extract it Nov 01 13:27:21 pkgdata examines the pkgdata that tells you waht's in binary packages, has nothing ot do with sstate Nov 01 14:11:53 jonmason: meet rburton, rburton meet jonmason (and see email) Nov 01 14:12:31 quit Nov 01 14:12:33 email seen Nov 01 14:13:41 I'm guessing he is west coast and won't see this message for 2 hours or so Nov 01 14:13:48 lazy bastards Nov 01 14:13:53 jonmason: He's UK Nov 01 14:14:05 another one? I hate DST Nov 01 14:24:54 DST is the worst Nov 01 14:48:19 New news from stackoverflow: How to add do_populate_sdk task to avro-c BitBake recipe? Nov 01 14:55:35 jonmason: bug triage is now fwiw, not sure if you were going to join? Nov 01 15:17:36 I was thinking similar Nov 01 15:17:56 bitbake bind -c menuconfig Nov 01 15:18:16 sounds like something to add to a features list Nov 01 15:18:31 jonmason: you sounded like I feel after the conference, whatever bug I picked up is still hanging around :( Nov 01 15:18:58 armpit: nice idea, hard to implement. I was aiming for something simpler Nov 01 15:19:01 RP i did not see that bug in our list today ? Nov 01 15:19:15 haha, I haven't spoken to anyone in many hours. So when I tired, I all of a sudden had an issue Nov 01 15:19:31 s/tired/tried Nov 01 15:20:23 yes, I think the menuconfig is going to be a simple idea that is hard to implement. but I still think it is worth looking at Nov 01 15:20:31 armpit: the conference bug? Its a personal one Nov 01 15:24:01 * Crofton is very congested still Nov 01 15:25:26 armpit. clearly you did not visit the establishments near your hotel, so you are bug free! Nov 01 15:28:47 uglyoldbob: its the kind of thing I'd do ;-) Nov 01 15:31:12 * zeddii is chasing go 1.11 fun Nov 01 15:36:34 RP do you need AB for 2.6 ? Nov 01 15:41:56 armpit: no, go for it. Nov 01 16:15:35 so any 4.14 and 4.8 I need for stable, I need to port over to the other kern repos ? Nov 01 16:29:42 correct. but you should’t need to port them. i only do -stable updates to the repos once we releaes. no new features, so you can just bump the revs and use them where they are Nov 01 16:33:38 zeddii_home, k **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Nov 01 23:10:38 2018 **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Nov 02 02:59:58 2018
