I'm facing an issue and I apologise in advance if this is a newbie question. I'm trying to build the meta-java layer against the sumo yocto release. If I build it using the master branch of the meta-java layer, I get an error saying that the version is not compatible. If I switch to the sumo branch of the meta-java layer, the compilation starts but fails due to some bugs in the recipes and OpenJDK itself. These Apr 26 12:02:11 bugs seems that have been fixed since. However, I'm interested in making yocto build the meta-java layer from the master branch instead of the sumo branch. Would this be possible? thanks. Apr 26 12:05:34 @nucatus: I don't know about sumo in general, but played with it with zeus. In general meta-java has a dependency on your host gcc. Which host gcc do you have? Can you post the errors on https://pastebin.com/ ? Apr 26 12:12:28 @RobertBerger the GCC version on the host is: gcc (Ubuntu 7.5.0-3ubuntu1~18.04) 7.5.0 Apr 26 12:12:34 @RobertBerger: the GCC version on the host is: gcc (Ubuntu 7.5.0-3ubuntu1~18.04) 7.5.0 Apr 26 12:17:14 @RobertBerger: here is the last part of the make log: https://pastebin.com/vaPtpCFQ Apr 26 12:20:03 This is what I found to be related to the issue: https://www.mail-archive.com/openembedded-devel@lists.openembedded.org/msg62549.html Apr 26 13:29:28 sorry, but my connection went down. Did I miss something related to my question? Apr 26 14:56:10 Interesting issue with my setup. I have several MACHINEs that share a kernel. In order to keep from checking out the code for each machine I am using externalsrc. The problem is the defconfig is stored in the source directory... So I get random failures if I try to build the machines in parallel. Apr 26 15:30:37 I am hacking around it for now by appending ${MACHINE} to meta_dir. Will look for a more permanent solution. Apr 26 15:30:59 Ideally nothing would be stored in the source directory Apr 26 20:25:36 RP: on which host distros the extended tarball is currently in use?
