**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Jun 01 02:59:57 2020 Jun 01 07:08:11 NNcchhhhhhasasasasasas Jun 01 08:33:11 kanavin_home: thanks, one small issue found in the last build, I've replied on list Jun 01 11:18:54 RP: right, I have seen it too, but wasn't sure if it's something known. I sent a patch. Otherwise it was all green in my test builds, so I am fairly confident in the quality of the set :) Jun 01 11:19:27 also, this significantly cuts down the number of outdated recipes, and maybe after the next auh run it will be down to just a handful of items, which has been my goal for a while :) Jun 01 12:05:36 kanavin_home: I was wondering how close this got auh, its quite the patchset! :) Jun 01 12:21:26 has anyone gotten gcc10 working? I'm being harassed by internal people asking about it Jun 01 12:26:08 jonmason: its in master? Jun 01 12:26:46 I'm being told that FC32 (with gcc10) doesn't build master Jun 01 12:27:05 not had a chance to verify Jun 01 12:27:31 jonmason: our autobuilder disagrees: https://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/typhoon/#/workers/35 Jun 01 12:27:47 RP: hahaha Jun 01 12:27:56 ok, so maybe I'm being told lies Jun 01 12:43:48 RP: my bumped SRCREVs built for the 5.4 reference BSPs. I can send it out, if you want to see if it fixes that build issue you raised. It can’t hurt either way. I’ve also reached out to Kevin to see if he’s planning other updates. Jun 01 12:44:58 zeddii: its a race so its only happening occasionally which means it will be difficult to tell :( Jun 01 12:48:27 that was my thought as well. Jun 01 12:48:38 it can’t just be a gcc10 fix Jun 01 12:49:00 * zeddii notes his IRC client has stopped scrolling Jun 01 13:58:58 I'm trying to clone poky over https from a box that cannot use the git:// protocol but the https URL as linked from the cgit web page (i.e. https://git.yoctoproject.org/git/poky ) just returns 404. Jun 01 14:22:01 astephen: Not sure what's up there, https://git.yoctoproject.org/git/poky works for me Jun 01 14:22:12 You could try the GitLab mirror at https://gitlab.com/yoctoproject/poky Jun 01 14:28:03 zeddii: hi Jun 01 14:28:10 zeddii: looking at https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/log/drivers/gpu/drm/drm_atomic_helper.c?h=linux-4.19.y Jun 01 14:28:16 zeddii: and https://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/linux-yocto/log/drivers/gpu/drm/drm_atomic_helper.c?h=v4.19/standard/base Jun 01 14:28:25 I see those two patches on top missing Jun 01 14:28:39 the drm/atomic_helper ones Jun 01 15:00:23 they are there on any branches I look at. Jun 01 15:14:49 Paul - thanks for the GitLab mirror tip - that site is working perfectly for me. Jun 01 15:35:25 I'm trying to build a very small initramfs image. How can I prevent /usr/lib/opkg from being populated? Jun 01 15:35:53 don't include package-management in its IMAGE_FEATURES Jun 01 15:35:57 iirc anyway Jun 01 15:38:12 RP: if you're curious, run 'devtool check-upgrade-status' with the patchset :) Jun 01 15:39:12 kergoth: thanks, I'll look for that. I've not gone out of my way to set it, though. Jun 01 18:20:07 FYI, the yocto 3.1 release notes wrongly point to a dunfell branch in the bitbake git repository Jun 01 19:12:14 kanavin_home: not too bad, definitely getting better. I fixed ross' email address :) Jun 01 19:13:56 RP: I also note that Intel is not sponsoring ELC-E this year Jun 01 19:14:31 https://events.linuxfoundation.org/embedded-linux-conference-europe/ Jun 01 19:16:02 glad it worked out for Ross Jun 01 19:18:04 kanavin_home: yes, i noticed that. curious why. Jun 01 19:18:49 rburton: Intel is not on the list of ELC US sponsors either Jun 01 19:24:56 rburton: but isn't it obvious? For Intel, it's cloud or death. That's how the situation looks like to an outsider :) Jun 01 19:35:45 kanavin_home: I have my theories about that but who knows :/ Jun 01 19:35:57 rburton: glad to have you back :) Jun 01 19:59:53 ndec: I've got an email I'd like to send to yocto-announce, are you the right person to talk to about that? Jun 01 20:03:15 paulbarker: yes , i can help with that. It is a restricted list. Jun 01 20:03:25 Restricted sender Jun 01 20:03:58 ndec: Should I send the draft email to you then? What's your email address? Jun 01 20:04:48 I am on my phone. So yes by email. Then we can discuss tomorrow ? Will PM my email Jun 01 20:05:16 ndec: Perfect, cheers! Jun 01 20:29:07 RP: Just pushed some bitbake patches that allow independent BBMASK per multiconfig... let me know what you think Jun 01 20:40:19 JPEW: hmm, now I see why that was hard to do :/ Jun 01 20:42:19 RP: Yes.... it's still not quite optimal as the one patch points out, but it's not too bad Jun 01 20:53:03 hi. how can i build and run a gdb on my host thats built for the target? i built gdb-cross-arm but i can't figure out how to run it. Jun 01 21:01:39 Hey guys. Trying to get a newer version of psycopg2 to work with bitbake, but having trouble patching the source. In the previous release, the following patch was added: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/meta-cloud-services/plain/meta-openstack/recipes-devtools/python/python-psycopg2/remove-pg-config.patch I tried to recreate this with the Jun 01 21:01:39 most recent version with no success. The usage of /bin/true was interesting, unsure as to its use and how it got the build to take place. Anyone have any ideas? Reason is that psycopg2 is only recently compatible with the python 3.8 Jun 01 21:06:32 just a hint in the right direction would be great Jun 01 21:20:00 RP: Erg, the very first patch in that series has a syntax error... I forgot to run the tinfoil tests. I'll send a V2 Jun 01 21:29:26 JPEW: when I retrofitted multiconfig, I think I was trying to avoid patching it in everywhere. I guess I probably should have done... Jun 01 21:30:16 RP: It's fine. The current behavior is functional enough, but having separate file collections unlocks a lot of possibilities **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Jun 02 02:59:57 2020
