**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Jul 30 02:59:57 2009 Jul 30 23:17:22 Question if I may. I've been trying to get an angstrom-2008.01 image to load static udev nodes to /dev/. /lib/udev/devices.tar.gz and /lib/udev/devices both exsist with the correct nods, however, I do not believe a startup script is copying the static content to /dev. Does anyone know where exactly I'd put the "/bin/cp -a /lib/udev/devices/* /dev/" command for angstrom? Or if this should already exsist? Or some other suggestion? Jul 30 23:35:18 NvrBst: I think there is /etc/defaults/udev that controls this behaviour Jul 31 00:02:16 hmm, the "/etc/defaults/udev" contains just 1 code line on my board: DEVCACHE="/etc/dev.tar" Jul 31 00:03:47 Does this mean that should be where the static node tarball should be put? because there are rules in "/etc/rcS.d/S03udev" that work with "/lib/udev/devices" (aka don't remove static devies) Jul 31 00:04:19 ahh I guess I can have it in both, let me try it out Jul 31 00:09:56 yea "/etc/dev.tar" doesn't look like what I thought it was. If it is used for static nodes how do I create/add my nodes to /etc/dev.tar? Jul 31 00:12:21 NvrBst: it's just a normal tar archive as far as I'm aware Jul 31 00:12:37 I don't know a lot about it, I just encountered it once when it wasn't working on one of my devices Jul 31 00:12:42 gotta run... cya later **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Jul 31 02:59:57 2009
