**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Jul 29 02:59:56 2011 Jul 29 08:50:31 hi! Does someone know, why I don't see eth0 (only lo) on Pandaboard using Angstrom? (I saw many times mentioned USB-ethernet, is there no driver for pandaboard ethernet?) Jul 29 08:54:12 usb0 Jul 29 09:03:45 dm8tbr, there is no such device... Jul 29 09:03:55 "ip link show" lists me: lo, sit0, ip6tn0 Jul 29 09:05:24 USB Ethernet doesn't work at startup. Jul 29 09:05:25 The culprit is the composite USB gadget driver. In etc/default/usb-gadget set USB_MODE='networking' and run the module reconfiguration script (name?). Jul 29 09:05:31 from: http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/demo/pandaboard/ Jul 29 09:08:11 so I do need USB dongle? Onboard ethernet does not work? (no LED are working) Jul 29 09:10:02 you can load a so-called usb-gadget Jul 29 09:10:15 this emulates an ethernet device on your usb-OTB-port Jul 29 09:11:19 oh, sorry...you already have an ethernet-port on the panda-board, did not know that Jul 29 09:11:22 but I can't use ordinary ethernet port (as on PC?) Jul 29 09:11:33 the usb ethernet in the usb hub should work Jul 29 09:11:42 may need a module loaded Jul 29 09:12:03 any idea how to? Jul 29 09:12:55 ah, is the ethernet-port wired to the usb-bus on the panda board? Jul 29 09:14:45 in this case, try: Jul 29 09:14:45 modprobe g_ether Jul 29 09:14:46 and tell us what Jul 29 09:14:46 dmesg Jul 29 09:14:46 says in the last lines Jul 29 09:14:50 ethernet port is on top of 2 USB port. USB works normally (keyboard, mouse) Jul 29 09:16:18 tobi1: I'm sure g_ether is not what he wants Jul 29 09:17:01 pastebin does not work... http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/654349/ Jul 29 09:17:42 modprobe lists some mods but nooone can load Jul 29 09:18:18 dm8tbr: it says so in the documentation of angstrom regarding the pandaboard...and you were talking about usb0 as ethernet interface, too...what am i missing? Jul 29 09:23:24 tobi1, where did you find documentation of angstrom for pandaboard Jul 29 09:24:20 well not a documentation, I am missing the right word, the notes to the pandaboard-demo files of angstrom, in the linke i posted before: http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/demo/pandaboard/ Jul 29 09:28:18 tobi1: usb0 is not necessarily g_ether... Jul 29 09:29:12 really? is there another module providing ethernet on usb? Jul 29 09:29:56 as I said the driver for the usb connected ethernet adaptor does Jul 29 09:30:13 and what driver is this? Jul 29 09:30:51 I'm on a mobile phone, so kindly check that yourself Jul 29 09:32:03 well, anyway, gsedej_work, did you use the angstrom demo-files from http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/demo/pandaboard/ ? Jul 29 09:50:49 U used web UI to get binary image Jul 29 09:51:04 i will try this demo now Jul 29 10:01:31 on http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/demo/pandaboard/ Jul 29 10:01:45 where can I find Angstrom-Pandaboard-demo-image*rootfs.tar.bz2 Jul 29 10:01:51 do I need to compile it? Jul 29 10:04:23 should I use rootfs of beagleboard? Jul 29 10:06:09 phu, i dont know if you can use that, sry...maybe one of the others here can help? Jul 29 10:48:23 hello Jul 29 10:48:28 anybody out there? ^^ Jul 29 10:49:52 need a little help ... Jul 29 10:51:30 !logs Jul 29 10:51:36 damn Jul 29 10:51:44 nobody here? Jul 29 10:52:45 sem23: there are lots of people here Jul 29 10:52:56 don't expect that we are all glued to the IRC session :) Jul 29 10:53:01 but nobody wants to speek with mee ^^ Jul 29 10:53:10 k k Jul 29 10:53:14 just ask your question :) Jul 29 10:53:15 can u help me? Jul 29 10:53:16 n1 Jul 29 10:54:06 got a working SLAM on beagle and need now to improve it .... perhaps by accelerating point cloud proccessing with the onboard DSP ..... but im not able to set up the toolchains :-( Jul 29 10:54:53 slam works with an ICP-algorithm and the xbox kinect as sensor input Jul 29 10:55:05 hmm, doesn't sound like something I would be able to help with, but maybe someone else can Jul 29 10:55:47 perhaps anybody has an image with an working toolchain... i would take it ^^ Jul 29 10:56:24 ill stay here ^^ maybe sby has what i look for ^^ Jul 29 11:31:55 has anybody yet run own apps on ti dsp? perhaps build with DSPLINK support? Jul 29 18:05:50 how can I have angstrom show a normal console instead of the splash screen and 1 line? it's making it a bit hard to find what's wrong Jul 29 18:31:09 hey! Just got a beagleboard with preinstalled angstrom distro on it. I found out the package manager was opkg.. I upgraded the package database.. then opkg install make gcc ---- both installations seemed to go well... now in the terminal, i can call 'make', but it doesn't find g++.. can't call gcc or g++ in the terminal either. .. am I missing a step.. Jul 29 18:31:18 anything special to do in angstrom to get them working? Jul 29 19:31:47 Caffeine: you might want to create a fresh install using narcissus Jul 29 19:31:55 Caffeine: also there's #beagle Jul 29 20:19:53 Yeah, I'll have to get a fresh install ... to reduce the charge... but I just found out that installing task-native-sdk fixes most of my issues so far and libstdc++-dev together with relinking libgcc_s allowed me to run a fabulous hello world program using iostream .. this is where it has to start Jul 29 20:20:09 http://pastebin.com/d7jQT6Vd - my target doesn't even have hardware opengl. how can I make this error go away? Jul 29 23:33:57 If it's been at least half an hour from when narcissus started building, should I assume it failed? Jul 29 23:41:09 tealbird: Most likely. Jul 29 23:43:05 Strife89: Thanks. **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sat Jul 30 02:59:56 2011
