**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun Mar 25 02:59:58 2012 Mar 25 04:26:07 hello guys Mar 25 05:35:16 Hi has any of you had a problem with laptop overheating on ubuntu? I'm running Oneric and when I run bitbake to build my laptop heats up from about 65C to 90C in 15 mins and then shutdowns. I dont have the heating problem if Im running the PC normally (not compiling anything) Mar 25 05:35:36 *shuts down Mar 25 05:50:06 ok I think ive sloved it :), seems to be related to PARALLEL_MAKE and BB_NUMBER_THREADS, the value of 2 was too hot for my laptop.. Mar 25 09:42:45 hello Mar 25 09:44:47 does anyone know that if it is possible order beaglebone/beagleboard that is designed for Industrial usage (temperature range: -30 to 50C)? Mar 25 12:35:53 <_av500_> angs: no Mar 25 12:36:16 <_av500_> but you can talk to the guys that produce them Mar 25 12:59:11 Hi i have a rather basic question on OpenEmbedded, I just downloaded and built the kernel via bitbake and it works fine on the board. So now if i wanted to do some changes on the kernel or some other package all I have to do is change the appropriate sources in the "work" directory and do another build right? Mar 25 13:33:28 is there a way to boot a kernel from an ext3 partition? Mar 25 13:33:41 e.g. using kexec or something like that? Mar 25 13:51:24 govind, that is risjky, since if you clean the recipe, you lose your changes Mar 25 13:59:15 <_av500_> govind: google "angstrom kernel workflow" Mar 25 14:17:16 good morning Mar 25 14:51:12 does anyone know that if it is possible order beaglebone/beagleboard that is designed for Industrial usage (temperature range: -30 to 50C)?
