Jul 28 05:37:25 or what distro? Jul 28 05:37:31 I did an "opkg install gcc", but I still don't have a gcc executable anywhere ... Jul 28 05:37:31 freebsd? Jul 28 05:37:39 oh Jul 28 05:37:40 Sorry, angstrom ... Jul 28 05:39:01 Although, does FreeBSD work on the BeagleBone? That idea appeals ... Jul 28 05:40:09 dunno of a microkenel that works on the 3359 Jul 28 05:45:29 Crud ... Jul 28 05:46:26 * mranostay chugs a beer and scrolls up Jul 28 05:46:48 is there a FreeBSD ARM port? Jul 28 05:47:16 <_av500_> or Open or Net? Jul 28 05:47:41 heh "FreeBSD should work on the i80321 based Intel XScaleĀ® devboards, " Jul 28 05:47:52 behind again Jul 28 06:46:04 bsder: opkg install task-sdk-target Jul 28 06:46:13 bsder: that wil get you binutils, make, etc as well Jul 28 06:46:30 koen: thanks Jul 28 06:48:57 I managed to get my module cross compiled using recipes installed into sources/meta-angstrom/recipes-images/angstrom ... Jul 28 06:49:38 However, I'd like to just compile the module directly on the BeagleBone rather than dealing with all of the transferring of files ... Jul 28 07:08:05 <_av500_> scp Jul 28 07:08:12 <_av500_> or nfs mount Jul 28 08:27:26 or sshfs Jul 28 10:39:07 hmm, a fresh angstom from narcissus won't have ethernet :P Jul 28 11:05:40 Why the fuck is it so hard to get XBMC running on BB? Jul 28 12:00:53 s/on bb// Jul 28 16:24:50 I did a build with narcissus Jul 28 16:25:06 And it works fine .. But somehow it can't bring up the interface Jul 28 16:25:10 *eth0 Jul 28 16:26:00 Using the bb-xm Jul 28 16:29:02 have you tried usb0? Jul 28 16:30:06 the ethernet on the xM is attached to the usb controller Jul 28 16:30:34 oh ... I thought usb0 is ethernet over the usb mini port. Jul 28 16:31:01 That's embarrasing Jul 28 16:31:06 thank you Jul 28 16:31:07 only if you installed the gether driver Jul 28 16:31:34 better to ask than continue to bang your head Jul 28 16:34:31 at least that's my philosophy, many in here prefer the head banging approach :P Jul 28 16:36:57 true Jul 28 16:37:29 But I assume it annoys people to explain the same things over and over again Jul 28 16:39:25 So I always try the head to table approach before I ask. Jul 28 16:39:37 true Jul 28 16:39:58 it's always best to try first Jul 28 16:41:04 Anyway - Thanks for your help. I will have to take a break Jul 28 16:41:46 I'm in switzerland and have german plugs. Jul 28 17:56:41 I started with a BeagleBone, SD card (with Angstrom) and Linux PC. Jul 28 17:57:00 What you need beyond that depends on what you want to do. Jul 28 18:03:33 yes, the bone is very easy to work with Jul 28 18:10:08 I having totally decided where I want to go as my first project with it. I'm thinking of making a device to convert VGA and DVI to Ethernet (HTTP) Jul 28 19:35:24 Linux beagleboard 2.6.32 #3 PREEMPT Tue Jul 26 10:56:56 CEST 2011 armv7l GNU/Linux \o/ works .. yippieh Jul 28 20:09:44 i tried to join this channel with my nick ozzloy, but i get Cannot join channel #beaglebone (You are banned!) Jul 28 20:10:07 i'm not sure why i'm banned, or how to fix it. can i get help? Jul 28 20:11:25 have you registered your name with nickserv? Jul 28 20:22:49 right now i have to plug in the usb and the ethernet cable and tell my computer to share the connection Jul 28 20:23:09 if you have an internet connection from the BB to the PC and the PC can route and NAT, then yes. Jul 28 21:03:14 Hey guys, I've just managed to get internet working on the beagleboard C4 with a basic Angstrom Demo. I want to install gcc and openCV and as far as i know all i need to use is opkg command. I just want to know if there are any other important things i should install as well, maybe before gcc. Im trying to avoid having problems like installing something in the wrong order or something silly like that. Jul 28 23:39:36 hmmm my first pcb design is back Jul 28 23:40:09 mranostay pics or it didn't happen. Jul 28 23:40:10 :P Jul 28 23:41:18 mranostay: where'd you get it fabbed?
