Sep 22 05:00:29 how long since flashing started? Sep 22 05:00:58 it was just following the four solid LEDs at beginning of flashing Sep 22 05:02:08 I've flashed before and dont' remember this, but maybe it was part of an update somewhere along the way? Sep 22 05:29:55 last i heard the Cylon pattern ( LEDS ) meant it was flashing the eMMC still Sep 22 05:30:13 but it may have changed since then Sep 22 05:40:20 can the beagleboard black be powered by a powered usb hub? Sep 22 16:03:30 hello, i am trying to connect my BBB with serial ftdi GND TX RX connected. in the screen console i only get unreadable characters. Sep 22 16:03:43 baudrate 115200 Sep 22 16:03:47 8n1 Sep 22 16:13:50 hello Sep 22 16:14:39 my beagle bone black is asking ip address while i get started in http://192.168.7.2/ Sep 22 16:37:34 hi, what is the question? Sep 22 18:32:34 hi guys, i just installed and was able to boot gentoo from a microsd card on my beaglebone black. I can not however figure out what is causing it to mount my filesystem as read only. Would this be due to me not having a uEnv.txt in the boot partition? I noticed when booting that it did mention that missing file Sep 22 18:45:26 mistawright: I had issues booting off the microsd where my filesystem would get mounted ro (which was the error option in my fstab). Sep 22 18:45:53 Try running fsck and then remounting. That fixed it for me. But I had to do it each time I booted. Sep 22 19:00:42 embedded_kyle, I removed the ro option in my fstab as well Sep 22 19:00:57 embedded_kyle, i havent been able to do anything due to this issue Sep 22 19:10:17 mistawright: And "mount -o remount,rw /" doesn't fix it? Sep 22 19:42:48 embedded_kyle, that worked Sep 22 19:54:52 embedded_kyle, after running your command and rebooting i havent ran into the issue again thanks Sep 22 19:57:14 mistawright: Welcome. It's touchy. Sometimes there are errors and it mounts ro and sometimes it's fine. Sometimes it needs an fsck and sometimes not. Sometimes I even have to pull the microsd and put it back in again. Just a few things to keep in mind if it happens again. Sep 22 20:01:27 did you have any issues syncing portage? currently emerge --sync or emerge-webrsync both seem to be failing Sep 22 20:04:32 I'm running Debian and had no issues syncing apt once booted Sep 22 20:09:23 embedded_kyle, poking around now. probably some items i missed.
