Aug 09 03:25:47 I need to write to 32-bit registers and I've only been successful in sending 1 byte of data. Aug 09 04:56:42 oh, he left Aug 09 07:05:09 i plugged a 5v power supply into my beagleboneblack and smoke came out of it Aug 09 07:05:17 why could this be?? Aug 09 07:41:27 I have just pluged in my beagleboneblack to a 5V DC 2.25A power supply and it as started smoking and now wont power on Aug 09 07:41:27 what could cause this :< Aug 09 07:41:28 ? Aug 09 07:45:14 reversed polarity? Aug 09 07:47:02 what dose that mean? Aug 09 07:49:08 that's what you do, when the phasers hit your shield and you want to protect your ship Aug 09 07:55:17 I would try phase modulation first. Aug 09 07:56:53 i like phases Aug 09 07:57:08 CHOCOLATE MAN! Aug 09 07:57:15 its been like a thousand years Aug 09 07:57:57 so is my beagle bone dead? Aug 09 07:58:17 tomlukeywood: do you have anything to measure the supply voltage? Aug 09 07:58:17 tomlukeywood: reverse polarity means + and - swapped Aug 09 07:58:30 deadbeaglebonchecker.com Aug 09 07:58:33 Defiant: no Aug 09 07:58:42 smoke is generally a bad sign though Aug 09 07:59:02 did you catch all the smoke in a tin or bag or somethign? Aug 09 07:59:16 they dont' put that in the instructions Aug 09 07:59:20 mrpackethead: yeah its all i my vacume cleaner Aug 09 07:59:24 in* Aug 09 07:59:30 I thought the pmic had protection against reverse polarity though? Aug 09 07:59:53 I'm pretty sure I've accidently hooked up a wrong-polarity 5v adapter without ill effect Aug 09 08:00:38 at least there does not seem to be any external protection circuit Aug 09 08:01:00 i have. Aug 09 08:01:03 and things where ok Aug 09 08:01:23 but it coudl depend on what kind of supply you had. Aug 09 08:01:47 tomlukeywood: do you have anything else connected to the BBB? Did yuo see any LED lightning? Aug 09 08:02:09 Defiant: no LED lightning and i had a micro HDMI cable connected Aug 09 08:08:42 hmm, pmic has overvoltage protection but I see no indication of reverse polarity protection... maybe I was lucky, I almost immediately realized the mistake and disconnected it Aug 09 08:24:34 ok thanks for your help Aug 09 08:24:51 RIP toms BBB 2015-2016 Aug 09 08:26:07 rip Aug 09 08:32:14 we have a whole cemetary of 'em :/ Aug 09 08:35:51 Now I understand why BBB have been sold out for so long Aug 09 08:36:46 lol, not *that* big a cemetary Aug 09 08:45:41 8 dead BBBs in mine Aug 09 08:46:22 i might get 1 or 2 revived if I try Aug 09 08:54:25 mrpackethead: hey kiwi! Aug 09 08:54:30 mrpackethead: where have you been? Aug 09 12:21:35 hi all Aug 09 12:21:47 i am unable to find debian jessie 8.4 2gb emmc flasher Aug 09 12:22:01 do anyone know link of that iamge.. please share Aug 09 12:22:02 thanks Aug 09 15:32:45 zmatt: we spoke a long time ago about a USB 4 port hub i was designing. I just posted about it to the forums plus images. Thanks for the pointers about the BBB USB Power problems. I incorporated correction circuitry on my hub for it and it makes a huge difference to USB reliability. Aug 09 16:32:52 hi, is it possible to flash eMMC from SD card using uBoot? Aug 09 16:41:46 lycaste, yes Aug 09 18:08:23 Strontium: link? Aug 09 21:11:29 hey, can someone let Robert know that somehow is serving plain http instead of https on port 443 on rcn-ee.net/deb/ Aug 09 23:27:45 http://rcn-ee.net:443/deb/ gets me: Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Aug 09 23:27:45 Reason: You're speaking plain HTTP to an SSL-enabled server port. Aug 10 00:15:05 lol Aug 10 00:15:36 best drop him an email .. he doesn't come here much Aug 10 00:49:48 Seems properly configured to me (though it responds both to http [on 80] and https [on 443]) Aug 10 01:03:27 that would be normal for most web servers :) Aug 10 02:02:13 jmesmon: https://beagleboard.org/Community/Forums Aug 10 02:02:51 jmesmon: check the annoucement section but its also in USB and Hardware **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Aug 10 02:59:58 2016
