**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Jul 12 02:59:57 2019 Jul 12 03:05:08 GenTooMan: in the follow up they actually repair one using a PNP (which allowed them to work around a transformer short) => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1l04ph6CjU Jul 12 07:56:49 hmm, weird, the sd card slot on this beaglebone seems to be non-functional... card detect works, but it just gives error -110 (which is command timeout iirc) and that's it Jul 12 12:51:46 zmatt I looked at the schematic and had thought the same thing they did "why didn't they use PNP" however history regarding the PNP is interesting. PNP devices weren't particularly reliable tell the late 60's which is after the time those units were designed. They got the sense circuit working at least. Jul 12 14:59:03 grrr..... webchat.freenode.net seems to be blocked! Jul 12 14:59:49 zmatt: any idea how to fix? Jul 12 15:03:28 tbr: do you know? Jul 12 15:03:44 hmm, let me check Jul 12 15:05:06 jkridner: looks like they might have switched the "engine" of webchat it used to be Qchat or something like that. I'll dig in. Jul 12 15:06:24 yeah.... don't know what it is reporting as and don't remember how to approve it. Jul 12 15:06:32 slept since then. Jul 12 15:07:33 jkridner: it looks like the new webchat doesn't have any consistently identifying aspect in its hostmask anymore. We'll have to lift the mute/ban for now Jul 12 15:11:01 jkridner: https://freenode.net/news/moving-to-kiwiirc seems it happened two weeks ago Jul 12 15:14:59 jkridner: try /mode #beagle -r Jul 12 15:30:31 :-( Jul 12 16:04:18 jkridner: Thanks for adding https://github.com/beagleboard/cloud9-examples/blob/master/PocketBeagle/TechLab/workshop-slides.pdf Just switch from Game Pup and got Tech Lab. Need blank SD to get to next step. I was able to find 2x18 headers so can use same SBC on both. Also got MP3 click from Mikro today to experiment. Yesterday got the USB Akai I mentioned on forum to aplaymidi. Jul 12 16:41:41 Hello there! I have been able to create my own OS with buildroot for a BBB, now i would like to do the same for a pocket beagle but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me how to setup the buildroot for a PocketBeagle Jul 12 16:57:11 that should be just about using the right device tree Jul 12 17:05:17 jkridner: let's just hope the spammers aren't a thing anymore Jul 12 17:05:23 why isn't the channel +s anyway? Jul 12 17:06:24 the channel listing is basically only of benefit for spam bots looking for channels... I very much doubt any human finds channels that way :P Jul 12 17:06:31 I have already selected the am335x_pocketbeagle.dtb and when i try to make the kernel it says that it cannot found a pocketbone_defconfig Jul 12 17:10:26 zmatt: how do I remove +s again anyway? Jul 12 17:10:36 add you mean? Jul 12 17:10:42 ok. Jul 12 17:10:48 we're currently not +s Jul 12 17:10:57 how do I set it like you'd like as well as enable the webchat? Jul 12 17:11:27 +s just hides the channel from the network's public channel listing Jul 12 17:11:35 it doesn't affect webchat or any other chatters Jul 12 17:11:55 k.... just tell me if/what commands I should give IRC. :-) Jul 12 17:12:33 already fixed :) Jul 12 17:12:42 thx! Jul 12 17:13:08 webchat still blocked Jul 12 17:13:57 ohh, tbr mentioned setting -r, but I don't think we ever were +r Jul 12 17:14:25 fixed Jul 12 17:14:27 ah right Jul 12 17:15:16 yup, can join with kiwi Jul 12 17:15:33 since webchatters are no longer distinguishable... should the spambots return, we'll have to go back to +q $~a and I guess I'll just fix up a tiny bot that tells unregistered users why they can't talk and how to fix it. maybe we should in that case make a webpage that explains it and have the bot link to that Jul 12 17:15:46 let's hope they don't come back Jul 12 17:16:51 anyway, afk Jul 12 17:45:50 note to self, spam bots are very rude and annoying. Bad things are likely to happen when people do that. Jul 12 19:24:41 hrm yeah good luck wiht that .. and afaik you can still register/auth with webchat ... Jul 12 19:24:57 so I vote for keeping +q $~a Jul 12 19:25:12 the signal to noise ratio is debatable via webchat anyway Jul 12 21:31:01 veremitz: I mean, we should at least *try* to not be too newbie-repellent :P Jul 12 21:33:06 zmatt: pffft ;P Jul 12 23:46:54 Has anyone had any success streaming 2 webcams at once using either mjpg-streamer or v4l2rtspserver? Jul 13 02:06:46 I have a BeagleBone Black, but I don't seem to have a power cord for it Jul 13 02:07:38 is it a standard thing I can get at an electronics store? Jul 13 02:17:34 ksft, It should be pretty standard. If you find a wall wart with a barrel connector that fits the BeagleBone Black, you can look on the wall wart which should have some text either molded in the plastic or on a sticker saying something similar to "INPUT:100-120V~50/60Hz 0.3A" and "OUTPUT: 12V 1A". You need to find a wall wart that has an output of 5V and at least 1.2A. Jul 13 02:44:39 oh, that's what those are called Jul 13 02:45:19 I'm also having trouble understanding what the pins along the sides each do Jul 13 02:46:03 ksft, There are enough resources online on that topic for you to be able to figure that out yourself. Jul 13 02:59:49 this is the only thing I've been able to find: https://elinux.org/File:BeagleBone_p9_pinout.jpg **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sat Jul 13 02:59:57 2019
