**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun May 23 02:59:56 2021 May 24 02:10:55 I'm trying to install the Debian 10.3 image onto a BBB Rev. C (from Element14, I think).  I dd'd the flasher image to a uSD card, booted the BBB from it, and the flasher automatically started.  It appears to automatically reboot at the end (should it?).  But when the board tries to boot from the eMMC it seems like a bunch of stuff was not May 24 02:10:55 properly installed, and I get errors about  "failed to load kernel modules", "Failed to start login service", networking is not up, etc.  I've tried re-installing multiple times but it never seems work correctly.  Any suggestions? May 24 02:18:02 I  should add that while eventually a login prompt appears on the HDMI monitor, it never appears on the serial console which is what I prefer to use. May 24 02:46:58 it shouldn't automatically reboot at the end no, that would result in it booting into the flasher again and commencing to reflash May 24 02:47:04 it should power off at the end May 24 02:48:04 I'm not sure what to make of your description, I've not seen or heard of a problem resembling it May 24 02:50:49 petre: just to clarify, you're talking about the "AM3358 Debian 10.3 2020-04-06 4GB eMMC IoT Flasher" image? (bone-eMMC-flasher-debian-10.3-iot-armhf-2020-04-06-4gb.img.xz) May 24 02:52:25 zmatt, yes, although I unxz'd it before dd'ing it onto the uSD card. May 24 02:52:59 if you use dd you'll need to unxz it yes May 24 02:53:51 (Etcher supports decompressing it on the fly) May 24 02:54:34 have you excluded the possibility that the sd card is iffy? it's a good idea to verify the sd card contents after writing it (which Etcher will do automatically) May 24 02:57:21 No, I've never used Etcher.  I've always used dd for writing image files.  Never had any trouble with it until now. May 24 02:57:55 But Etcher might be a good way to verify the image getting on the the uSD card. **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon May 24 03:00:16 2021
