Sep 23 09:08:56 <zmatt> they're very different devices... the rpis are basically consumer products, using largely undocumented media-oriented SoCs that are custom for the rpi foundation and are not available for purchase by anyone else.  the beaglebones are based on well-documented industrial SoCs that are easily available, which makes the beaglebones also useful for prototyping custom designs
