**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Feb 14 02:59:56 2012 Feb 14 06:16:00 Hi all. I'm trying to hook my Apple Bluetooth keyboard up to my N900. I've re-enabled the 'input' profile for Bluetooth in /etc/bluetooth/main.conf, restarted BT, but when I try to connect, it succeeds, and then disconnects again. Feb 14 06:16:19 I'm having difficulty diagnosing it because I can't find any error output. Can anybody give me any advice? Feb 14 06:33:45 http://wiki.maemo.org/Fremantle_Bluetooth_Keyboard_Layout Feb 14 06:33:52 did you follow this? Feb 14 06:36:16 and this http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=41845 Feb 14 06:36:30 people complain about being hard to pair, but after that it works Feb 14 06:36:54 you need also a custom kernel, or to install the apple keyb kernel module Feb 14 06:40:02 Hmm, thanks beford, I'll dig into those; I suspect your second link better explains where I'm getting stuck. Feb 14 06:40:53 if you have the stock kernel it will not work I believe Feb 14 06:41:52 beford: I've installed the kernel-power package and am using the CSSU. I'm not sure whether that kernel is suitable or whether extra stuff needs to be compiled into it though. Feb 14 06:42:38 I *think* its enough :) Feb 14 07:59:14 Good morning to all .. you know the path of these icons, I would like to change, thanks http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/6656/screenshot2012021303524.png Feb 14 08:19:11 ping X-Fade Feb 14 08:19:28 ~seen X-Fade Feb 14 08:19:31 x-fade is currently on #maemo #harmattan #meego, last said: 'Anyway, time to do some real work, later.'. Feb 14 10:24:28 g'morning #maemo Feb 14 10:26:17 i messed up my /home/user/.profile; when i reboot my n900 it gets stuck in a loop… any way i can recover it without flashing? Feb 14 10:27:19 i have a nitdroid install on my sd card, using multiboot. any way i could use that to access maemo's filesystem? or boot maemo into single user mode? Feb 14 10:34:31 for your first question: try RescueOS, by NIN101 Feb 14 10:34:38 second question .. Feb 14 10:34:45 ~nitdroid Feb 14 10:34:46 [nitdroid] Nokia Internet Tablets with android OS. Support on nitdroid is provided in the channel #nitdroid and #nitdroid-help and Nokia does not officially support owners with android OS on their tablets. For more information read here: http://nitdroid.com/index.php?title=NITDroid_project. If you have bricked your N900 device and have installed nitdroid, flash with both eMMC and fiasco. Feb 14 10:35:08 maybe someone else might help u with that Feb 14 10:35:50 Like someone at #nitdroid or #nitdroid-help ? Feb 14 10:36:33 :) Feb 14 10:43:27 nze: if you have BootMenu installed, you can boot with usb-net, ssh into it and fix your .profile Feb 14 10:44:23 hmm, u mean BackupMenu, i suppose Feb 14 10:44:44 Sicelo: it´s listed as BootMenu in the package manager Feb 14 10:45:14 ok Feb 14 10:45:25 «Fanoush´s Boot Menu» Feb 14 10:47:57 Sicelo: thanks, i'm looking into rescueOS, it might well be what i need; in the announcement thread on maemo.org someone mentioned that nitdroid could be used for the same purpose, but #nitdroid{,-help} are rather silent atm. maybe someone will answer a little later, i'll rather wait a little before rushing anything Feb 14 10:49:14 nze: it there´s a terminal in nidroid and you have root access, you should be able to mount your home and fix it too Feb 14 10:51:19 StyXman_: yea that'll be the first thing i'll install as soon as i get it working again -.- . my last full backup dates back ~2 weeks, but i'd still rather not lose the last 2 weeks of my conversations Feb 14 10:54:38 nze: rescueos doesn't need to be installed. nor does it affect your n900 in any adverse way, unless u mess up in the terminal :) Feb 14 10:56:56 http://216.189.8.164/N900/rescueOS/documentation.txt Feb 14 10:57:25 i hope u didn't think i was talking about MeeGo's initrd, with is a pita to work on Feb 14 11:05:16 Sicelo: that's what i first came across when looking for n900 rescueOS (meego), but maemo.org was helpful. giving it a shot now, nitdroid feels too crippled (can't find the right device nodes, no fdisk/lsblk/blkid…) Feb 14 11:08:18 kewl :) Feb 14 11:17:54 meh... i have the flasher and the initfs, but where can i find a fitting kernel image? Feb 14 11:20:33 http://216.189.8.164/N900/rescueOS/2.6.37 Feb 14 11:21:16 read carefully the page .. especially remembering to use the -l option for flasher Feb 14 11:46:11 got it running, but mass storage mode doesn't seem to work, i can't see anything new in /dev after enabling it Feb 14 11:46:29 and mounting /dev/mmblk1p1 fails with an i/o error Feb 14 14:23:34 nze: still around? Feb 14 14:27:03 wake up! Feb 14 14:27:51 <_merlin1991> anybody in here with a hetzner server? Feb 14 14:28:07 <_merlin1991> hetzner seems to have gone down though my quasselcore still lives :D Feb 14 14:28:27 what does that even mean Feb 14 14:28:39 ah wait seems they are back Feb 14 14:29:10 why do I have a server in a datacenter when the whole company goes offline twice in one day Feb 14 14:29:19 I have an n900 that's stuck in post somewhere Feb 14 14:29:30 but I wanna put the pwnie express image on it Feb 14 14:29:35 anyone tried that? Feb 14 14:30:07 pwnie express? Feb 14 14:30:10 Gear_: I which the N900 ould have POST... Feb 14 14:30:15 I wish* Feb 14 14:30:55 I mean I have my one I use as a phone, and there is another one which should arrive any day, which I want to use without a sim Feb 14 14:30:58 for stuff. Feb 14 14:31:23 like neopwn if that ever gets released this year, but pwnie express because that phone image is already out Feb 14 14:31:50 Gear_: neopwn is dead Feb 14 14:32:02 so it's not gonna be released for the n900? Feb 14 14:32:06 you're better off just installing the driver and all the tools from -devel Feb 14 14:32:17 afaik there is no development anymore Feb 14 14:32:27 that looked freakin awesome :( Feb 14 14:32:42 I'm stuck with pwnie express then Feb 14 14:34:14 anyone used it? Feb 14 16:43:45 http://communities-dominate.blogs.com/brands/2012/01/how-many-lumia-sales-as-nokia-and-microsoft-ashamed-to-reveal-number-lets-count-and-compare-to-n9-me.html Feb 14 16:43:48 interesting Feb 14 16:51:37 hi i was trying to port my meego (qt-components based app) to maemo and i have problem with device orientation. In landscape mode application works well, but in portrait mode is visible only part of window and the cursor (touch) is gives also rotated response.. Feb 14 17:35:52 xmlich02: rotation isn't genuinely supported on maemo fremantle Feb 14 17:36:19 xmlich02: /join #maemo-ssu Feb 14 17:36:55 there's a whole bunch of devels obviously interested mainly in porting apps to portrait mode ;-D Feb 14 17:37:27 also CSSU comes with some support for genuine portrait Feb 14 17:37:54 your app shouldn't do this locally Feb 14 17:38:39 also you app MUST NOT use direct accelerometer values to do roatation! Feb 14 17:39:04 ~2118 Feb 14 17:39:45 ~2119 Feb 14 17:39:46 The key words "MUST", "MUST NOT", "REQUIRED", "SHALL", "SHALL NOT", "SHOULD", "SHOULD NOT", "RECOMMENDED", "MAY", and "OPTIONAL" in this document are to be interpreted as described in RFC 2119. Feb 14 20:18:42 is it me or this page is infested with spam? http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900 Feb 14 20:19:23 (completely off topic, I know) Feb 14 20:50:19 Hello Feb 14 22:03:22 hello Feb 14 23:24:27 can that phone-control script initiate calls to VOIP usernames or just phonecalls?
