Now I have some GTA02 batteries and a mains charger.  I remember that I could not find an Openmoko battery at my home but I do not remember if I already had an Openmoko charger.

I should not be spending my time on this stuff but I was curious to know if the GTA02 can be powered from the USB port without a battery installed.  It seemed that the answer was no but I did not know if the GTA02 I was using still worked because I could not find an Openmoko battery.
