**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun Jul 28 02:59:57 2019 Jul 28 11:02:47 Is there a term in English for the children of my cousins? Jul 28 11:27:24 I am thinking second cousins? Probably officially something like first cousins once removed Jul 28 11:33:52 What does it mean for something to be official in English? Jul 28 11:34:49 32 Jul 28 11:35:31 I mean because I thought that no central authority exists for the English language, unlike some other languages. Jul 28 11:36:15 I say official as in how a genealogist would say not informally Jul 28 11:36:43 the remove part refers to how many generations away they are Jul 28 11:36:54 https://www.livescience.com/32121-whats-a-second-cousin-vs-a-first-cousin-once-removed.html Jul 28 11:37:20 The degree of cousinhood ("first," "second," etc.) denotes the number of generations between two cousins and their nearest common ancestor. Jul 28 11:37:24 so children of children of cousin == twice removed for example Jul 28 11:37:35 The term "removed" refers to the number of generations separating the cousins themselves. Jul 28 11:37:52 sixwheeledbeast: sounds about right Jul 28 11:38:45  but i doubt you would speak about your cousins as "removed" in conversation is my point Jul 28 11:43:06 i do :) Jul 28 11:43:41 lol Jul 28 11:44:02 * DocScrutinizer05 removes ginggs Jul 28 11:45:04 cccamp2019 anybody? Jul 28 16:07:47 Is there an interactive calculator program for GNU+Linux inclusive-or GNU+Windows NT that has persistent history between sessions like Mathdroid for Android? With Mathdroid, even if you power off the computer. the next time the application runs, the application still has the history from previous sessions without having to do anything special. Does matlab, maple, or some other program I have not used have this feature? Jul 28 16:11:18 apcalc (commandline) Jul 28 16:12:30 * brolin_empey will look up apcalc. Jul 28 16:13:33 (apcalp is the debian package name, real name is calc) Jul 28 16:39:57 I found the official Web site of this program at http://www.isthe.com/chongo/tech/comp/calc/calc-whatis.html , need to check if the Cygwin distribution includes this program. Jul 28 16:44:21 I do not see this program when searching https://cygwin.com/packages/package_list.html for “calc”. :-/ Jul 28 16:53:53 theres online ones that save session via cookies Jul 28 16:56:08 also there is the generic band aid option of a spreadsheet Jul 28 16:58:03 I installed this program from the package in Debian GNU+Linux 7.0 (wheezy). It looks like I did not sufficently specify what I want the program to do. This program does appear to have persistence between sessions for the user input but what I want and what Mathdroid for Android does is have persistence for the whole session, including both the user input *and* the output. If you have Android, even only version 2.3 , try Mathdroid to see what I mean. Jul 28 17:02:03 “generic band aid” is a strange phrase because Band-Aid is specific brand of bandage. The generic term is bandage. Jul 28 17:02:43 s/is specific/is a specific/ Jul 28 17:03:01 Apparently infobot is missing again. Jul 28 17:06:04 SpeedCrunch has persistent history Jul 28 17:07:04 Basically, with Mathdroid, even if you power off the computer, the next time you run Mathdroid, the screen is the same as the last time the program ran, automatically without having to do anything special. Jul 28 17:08:32 same on that, from time to time I use it on N900 Jul 28 17:14:16 OK, I will look up SpeedCrunch. Jul 28 17:26:10 https://speedcrunch.org/download.html seems to assume that all GNU+Linux users use x86 because I am assuming that “linux32” and “linux64” mean x86-32 and x86-64 architectures, respectively? Jul 28 17:33:59 --------------------------- Jul 28 17:33:59 speedcrunch.exe - Application Error Jul 28 17:33:59 --------------------------- Jul 28 17:33:59 The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application. Jul 28 17:33:59 --------------------------- Jul 28 17:33:59 OK Jul 28 17:34:02 --------------------------- Jul 28 17:34:04 I need to look up 0xc0000022 in ntstatus.h . Jul 28 17:40:41 #define STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED ((NTSTATUS)0xC0000022L) Jul 28 17:40:41 Looks like a file system (NTFS) permission problem from using unzip in Cygwin instead of a native Windows program to extract the archive file I downloaded. Jul 28 17:44:06 Yes, I can ShellExecute(Ex) the same file after deleting the directory created by Cygwin unzip and using a native Windows version of 7-Zip to extract the archive file. Jul 28 17:53:34 ontime: SpeedCrunch on Windows appears to do what I want, at least if SpeedCrunch is cleanly exited. I wonder if SpeedCrunch updates the session on disk as soon as it processes new user input or only when it exits. I wonder what happens if the power to my computer is interrupted when the session in SpeedCrunch has changed since SpeedCrunch started. Jul 28 18:04:23 In SpeedCrunch, 4.18+2.61 returns 6.79 instead of 6.789999999999999 like in CPython 2.7 without rounding. Jul 28 18:06:01 I mean that CPython 2.7 without rounding returns 6.789999999999999 . Jul 28 22:04:41 ok. so. Jul 28 22:04:49 the hunt for something to run on the N810 continues lol Jul 28 22:06:04 or at least something I can update. Jul 28 22:09:55 :) Jul 28 23:25:57 seems not lol Jul 28 23:26:12 maemo just won't connect to my wifi router. i tried every setting. i'm guessing it's a wpa1 issue. Jul 29 00:11:51 weird. i tried installing ubuntu on an old A10 i have Jul 29 00:11:56 seems to just reboot over and over Jul 29 00:12:02 right when the kernel starts up it seems Jul 29 00:13:15 let me try mint **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon Jul 29 03:00:13 2019
