**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Mar 17 02:59:57 2020 Mar 17 09:50:36 Mar 17 19:24:35 Got another N9 .. and an Asha 503 Mar 17 19:30:10 o.O Mar 17 19:32:45 They were sold under the same listing. ime N9 has probably had the best cellular connectivity at a remote place I go to on holiday, but last time I bent a SIM pin after leaving a micro→mini adapter or something in the slot. Mar 17 19:45:45 I'd love to get my hands on another N9 Mar 17 19:46:28 last one died about 4 months ago with it's battery expanding Mar 17 19:46:52 O.o Mar 17 19:47:57 you mean dead battery damaged the phone? Mar 17 19:48:00 hard to come by one here in thailand Mar 17 19:48:14 or just no battery to replace Mar 17 19:48:17 no I mean the battery exploded Mar 17 19:48:26 o.o Mar 17 19:48:35 that's not very nokia-like Mar 17 19:49:47 I was going to replace the battery, but plugged it in and had it balloon spoiling the rest of the board Mar 17 19:50:18 They're probably hard to come by here in NZ too. I have a search saved for them on trademe so it should email me when a new "N9" listing appears, and the previous one was in September 2015. Mar 17 19:50:44 wait, nvm, that was the first one Mar 17 19:51:38 i see 3 here from a quick search, ~50 usd Mar 17 19:51:45 Looks like there are a couple of listings every year. Mar 17 19:52:42 This N9 and Asha combined were ~$30 USD, and they seem to be in pretty good condition except for a small amount of delamination on the N9. Mar 17 19:52:48 and nokia n950 for a .. 700usd Mar 17 19:53:31 Cheapest phone I've bought so far is an N97 for something like $2 NZD Mar 17 19:53:32 'not for sale. developer device' lol Mar 17 19:54:17 because the same person was selling an N900, might as well have included the N97 in the shipping cost. Mar 17 19:54:52 I've a couple of Jolla phones - crap for hardware, but other than that a joy Mar 17 19:55:22 that N97 is in pretty bad condition .. frame is stuck on with blu-tack .. I think there's still an SD card stuck in the slot with blu-tack, parts of the screen don't work, etc Mar 17 19:55:46 and would need a battery for it to test it properly. Mar 17 19:55:50 managed to install the early harmattan to N9ner before pushed it too far and bricked Mar 17 21:47:04 Hm. I think I disabled the ability to change/move shortcuts on the desktop and can't remember how I did it. Mar 17 21:50:51 fremantle? Mar 17 21:51:05 Yes. Mar 17 21:51:31 So when tapping the background, the cog icon appears, but I can't click it. Mar 17 21:51:49 gconftool-2 /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/key-actions/disable_edit ... ;) Mar 17 21:52:50 Thanks, that was it. Mar 17 21:53:04 yw Mar 17 23:36:42 Weird how this Asha didn't allow me to use the web browser until I put a SIM card in it, and with the SIM card in it works even though it's not a compatible network. Mar 17 23:41:02 * Maxdamantus can't figure out how to actually enter a URL to go to. Mar 18 01:05:55 Oksana: The KingSpec Global Store on AliExpress finally replied to me and said to return the failed SSD to them in Shenzhen via registered mail but I did not see their reply until eleven days after they sent it because apparently AliExpress never notified me that I had a new message. My local postal outlet said it will cost 22 to 26 CAD to send this item via registered mail. I should have asked the postal outlet if there is a lower cost option but the Mar 18 01:05:55 seller said to use registered mail. **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Mar 18 02:59:58 2020
