**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Jun 16 03:06:38 2020 Jun 16 14:55:31 hi. i would like to show a notification in hildon (from a python-dbus script) and if the user clicks it, the script should detect this and take some action. using http://wiki.maemo.org/Phone_control#Make_an_.22Email_Style.22_notification_dialog works, but there seems to be no way for me to know if the notification was actually clicked. only available action is to close. when the nofication is clicked, nothing happens, and it remains showing Jun 16 16:26:00 Hmm Jun 16 16:27:03 Gingerbread seems to be more current than NITDroid 0.0.9? At least according to https://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=68843 Jun 16 16:28:00 I installed NITDroid-0.0.9 on my microSD with Dualboot just fine, but i currently do not have mobile Data, only WLAN Jun 16 16:28:25 Making Voice Calls probably does not work at all, but should mobile Internet work? Jun 16 16:30:52 I cannot disable Airplane-Mode in the Network Settings Jun 16 16:45:48 Ah, https://archive.org/download/NitdroidNokiaN900 has newer Stuff like N12_UMay.tar.bz2 and N12_update_2.3.7.tar.bz2 Jun 17 00:52:24 APic: Did you configure the APN in Android for WWAN (cellular Internet) connectivity? Jun 17 01:00:50 luke-jr: At least according to https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-spectre-patch-older-chips,36815.html and https://www.extremetech.com/computing/266884-intel-wont-patch-older-cpus-to-resolve-spectre-flaws , Intel announced that they would patch Wolfdale, which includes C2D E7xxx and C2D E8xxx, but they changed their mind and did not patch Wolfdale after all. However, apparently AMD x86 CPUs are not vulnerable to Spectre and Meltdown; presumably early Jun 17 01:00:50 AMD x86-64 hardware, such as the AM2 era and maybe AM3 era and later, has depreciated as much as Core 2 era hardware by now if you are worried about vulnerability to Spectre and Meltdown. The high-density, low-cost 4-GiB DDR2 DIMMs that work with AMD (AM2) computers but not Intel computers are cheap but I do not know if an AM2 motherboard was made that supports more than 8 GiB total main memory? Jun 17 01:02:41 brolin_empey: AMD CPUs when Spectre was discovered absolutely are vulnerable to Spectre Jun 17 01:06:43 sixwheeledbeast: Spending money on a newer than Core 2 era computer seems silly when I do not need a newer than Core 2 era computer. I spent my money on upgrades for my Core 2 era computers that are still fast enough for me, such as 8 or even 16 GiB of main memory, SATA SSDs, USB 3 host controllers, 4k UHD-capable triple-head video cards, 4k UHD video monitors, instead of buying newer than Core 2 era computers that I do not need. **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Jun 17 02:59:57 2020
