Jun 28 07:15:18 the exports as in unslung wont work Jun 28 07:15:27 i am on debian now Jun 28 10:26:04 Eiffel tried setting the TERM variable to something else, like export TERM=linux Jun 28 20:06:07 hey there Jun 28 20:06:20 salut Jun 28 20:07:02 hey EvilDevil. would you happen to be french? i'm from lyon. Jun 28 20:08:17 texture`, no, but I had french at school. But I know someone from nearby Lyon Jun 28 20:09:51 nice. you've been choosing your target well, on that one. Jun 28 20:10:37 not really.. hadn't had any use for it yet ;) Jun 28 20:11:01 hehe Jun 28 20:12:17 ok... i'm not gonna be able to hide any longer that i'm desperate for some slug help. Jun 28 20:13:35 i've been digging it, so here's my situation: basically, once unslung to a flashdrive in port 2, i can safely reboot as many times as i want an keep on booting from flash Jun 28 20:14:32 but whenever i power cycle the slug, the flash drive turns to "not formatted" condition, and the slug won't boot from it anymore Jun 28 20:15:23 if i plug it after boot it will be recognized. running fsck shows that the filesystems have been damaged (by the shutdown process?) Jun 28 20:15:58 repairing them will enable me to boot from flash again. Jun 28 20:16:45 if i power cycle again, same thing, fsck again, but after two or three of such cycles, the filesystems can't be repaired anymore (i e it has been "really" damaged). Jun 28 20:17:06 at that point i have to format the flash drive and unsling again. Jun 28 20:17:31 i've run a diff on the log from dmesg Jun 28 20:18:19 a whole block is missing from the log when the boot fails, something about hub.c detecting the usb device Jun 28 20:26:17 texture`: do you power cycle by pulling the plug or by pressing the button (you should do the latter) Jun 28 20:28:07 which is realy the better way, but the linksys shutdown way is a little sick, and incomplete, so it is nearly normal, that the fs's are "umounted" dirty Jun 28 20:28:34 morning, btw :) Jun 28 20:29:05 morning cap Jun 28 20:29:09 morning caplink811-log Jun 28 20:31:17 maybe, there is a kind of workaround, with a K99stopscript, which stops nearly everything, and do some syncs, dunno Jun 28 20:31:33 s/K99/K01 Jun 28 20:33:18 another way, maybe, make sure, that killallS is available, this exe is called by the linksys shutdown, but isn't on the slug (originally) Jun 28 20:35:20 actually i am a little bit surprised by this; if the slug is not in use it will still sync every 30 secs so the slug should leave a fairly solid filesystem Jun 28 20:36:15 eFfeM, talking about openslug/debslung or unslung fw? Jun 28 20:37:18 i was referring to texture's problem so that is unslung Jun 28 20:39:38 k, so pls light my way, which process will do the sync? kupdated isn't it, i assume.. Jun 28 20:40:12 hm, he's desinterested.. Jun 28 20:40:58 oh well Jun 28 20:41:27 texture'i meant **** ENDING LOGGING AT Thu Jun 29 02:59:57 2006
