**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Jul 13 02:59:56 2006 Jul 13 18:18:31 hey, could anyone explain to me why scripts automatically installed in /opt/etc/init.d/ bu unslung packages all start with S## ?? Jul 13 18:18:42 like S05coreutils Jul 13 18:18:56 or S40sshd Jul 13 18:24:16 also, if the scripts in /opt/etc/init.d/ get executed automatically, what is the point in diversion scripts?? Jul 13 19:37:38 I'm working on a slug that operates completely off the internal flash drive, and I'm wondering if there's an easy way to duplicate my slug. If I were running off a regular PC I'd just boot knoppix and use dd to make an image of the drive, but since this thing is only booting of the internal I'm not sure how to go about it. Anybody have suggestions? Jul 13 19:45:56 hi, is it possible to run thttpd via Xinedt? Jul 13 19:46:01 openslug btw Jul 14 01:05:05 1: Is it just me, or is http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/CarPuter horribly overcomplicated? Jul 14 01:05:27 It appears most of the page is about powering the other stuff he's using in his car, and has nothing to do with his NSLU2. Jul 14 01:06:20 2: I see from http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/MakeABatteryPoweredSlug that the slug will boot with as low as 3.5V. Has anybody measured or derived the other end -- how high can the voltage go before damaging anything? Jul 14 01:06:33 Am I likely to kill it at 7.5 V? Jul 14 01:47:07 Oh, wow. Jul 14 01:49:15 According to the table at http://www.feeling-tech.com.tw/EN/Product/ProductList.asp?iWebId=1&sDownloadType=2&#A, linked to from http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Info/LinksToHardwareComponentDocumentation, it looks like I can just hook the thing directly to the 12V line from the car, with no external dc-dc converter. Jul 14 01:49:21 That sounds way too good to be true, though. **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Jul 14 02:18:58 2006 **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Jul 14 02:59:57 2006
