**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Oct 27 02:59:57 2006 Oct 27 03:04:10 I'm just wondering Oct 27 03:04:31 morning Oct 27 03:04:34 if I buy a usb port hub and plug that into with port 1 of the slug (where I have the hd now) Oct 27 03:04:41 and plug two hds into the hub Oct 27 03:04:49 will I be able to use both of them? Oct 27 03:05:14 unslung? Oct 27 03:05:45 yes Oct 27 03:05:59 I have port 2 being used by a printer right now Oct 27 03:06:23 http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Unslung/WhichUSBPortforUnslung6 Oct 27 03:06:26 I have unslung 5.5beta installed Oct 27 03:06:33 ah Oct 27 03:06:43 well, that doesn't support hubs very well Oct 27 03:07:41 although that's only based on heartalk here and some documents - still haven't tested myself Oct 27 03:07:41 I basically want to mirror the drives Oct 27 03:08:09 what about your first question? Oct 27 03:08:09 about ipkg Oct 27 03:08:18 oh, I figured that out Oct 27 03:08:22 ok Oct 27 03:08:32 I see it was several hours ago Oct 27 03:08:32 I found out that in ipkg info Oct 27 03:08:42 every status line that is installed starts out Oct 27 03:08:46 Status: install Oct 27 03:08:58 so I was able to parse that line Oct 27 03:09:03 or ipkg list_installed | grep -i Oct 27 03:09:34 * DrJ is creating a web frontend in php for ipkg on the slug Oct 27 03:09:39 ah Oct 27 03:09:59 isn't there one already? atleast something like that Oct 27 03:10:07 http://ww2.jwjkp.com:8081/ipkg/ <--what I have done so far Oct 27 03:10:07 there is, but it sucks Oct 27 03:10:53 planning on publishing it as well? Oct 27 03:10:59 or releasing whatever Oct 27 03:11:07 probably Oct 27 03:12:17 I needed to find out if they are installed or not to determine whether to have an install or remove button on that package info pages Oct 27 03:13:12 I'm sure there will be some caveats during the development.. Oct 27 03:13:24 caveats? Oct 27 03:13:31 especially when it comes to installing/uninstalling situations Oct 27 03:14:00 * DrJ doesn't know what caveats means Oct 27 03:14:07 setbacks I'd stay Oct 27 03:14:11 oh Oct 27 03:14:13 say Oct 27 03:14:19 I already got the installation part completed Oct 27 03:14:33 with exceptions? Oct 27 03:14:40 when everything isn't going as planned Oct 27 07:05:52 do sessions work in php with fastcgi and lighttpd? Oct 27 07:05:55 or even cookies Oct 27 08:30:40 Do you know if Linkstation Pro (LS-300GL) works with openslug? Oct 27 15:48:52 hello, I would like to ask if the debian port to nslu2 is working at the moment... Oct 27 15:49:12 I saw a note that the ethernet driver was not working Oct 27 15:49:34 but then I saw also that there is an unofficial image available Oct 27 15:49:43 I am a little confused Oct 27 17:24:33 hello Oct 27 17:24:41 anybody with paragon ntfs here? Oct 27 22:00:37 Just a word to the wise for everyone - there is an upgrade to openssh available in the ipkg repository. If you want to install it, go to the web interface and temporarily enable telnet and then install it using a telnet session, because if you try to do it using putty (or an ssh connection from another Linux box) you will lose connectivity in the middle of the process and will still have to enable telnet to fix it. Oct 27 22:02:27 Also don't use the web-based ipkg interface because it will ask a question about whether you want to overwrite your config file (No, you don't) and the web interface will display the question but will not give you any way to answer it, and the install will hang there. Oct 27 22:03:21 Just something I learned the hard way. :( Oct 27 22:34:10 caribou8, much appreciated Oct 28 01:59:15 03:40 <@root> Cleaning up channel, bye! Oct 28 01:59:17 03:40 -!- drif was kicked from #chat_000 by root [] Oct 28 02:00:02 hm Oct 28 02:00:10 sorry about that :P **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sat Oct 28 02:59:57 2006
