**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Sep 20 02:59:57 2007 Sep 20 14:28:30 hi Sep 20 14:28:49 i've problem with installation of subversion Sep 20 14:29:31 starting svnserve gives the error bash-3.2# svnserve Sep 20 14:29:31 svnserve: error while loading shared libraries: libuuid.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Sep 20 14:29:50 can anyone help? Sep 20 14:35:10 not me Sep 20 14:35:46 kater: you forgot to mention what firmware and version you're running. Sep 20 14:43:40 oh Sep 20 14:44:06 i'll collect the information Sep 20 14:44:26 svn - 1.4.5-1 Sep 20 14:45:05 firmware... can you tell me the command for identification? Sep 20 14:47:43 @mwester: bash-3.2# uname -a Sep 20 14:47:44 Linux NAS_TWS29 2.6.15 #513 Sat Sep 8 18:24:01 CST 2007 ppc unknown Sep 20 14:52:24 Ok, so that would an optware release for some sort of device, then. Sep 20 14:52:37 yes Sep 20 14:53:31 kater, ipkg install e2fsprogs Sep 20 14:53:34 the device is a Synology NAS DS 207 Sep 20 14:54:13 Thanks eno :) I knew I'd seen that problem mentioned before... Sep 20 14:54:13 for some reason, i cannot find why svnserve depends on libuuid Sep 20 14:54:47 know it works :D Sep 20 14:55:14 why is there no dependency from svn to e2fsprogs? Sep 20 14:56:08 in my build, i did not find the dependency Sep 20 14:57:35 is that normal? or a bug? Sep 20 14:57:50 perhap both? :) Sep 20 14:58:23 i think it's a bug. because svn doesn't work without e2fsprogs Sep 20 15:00:23 I would tend to agree that something is amiss. But it's not unusual for a package to have strange dependencies; few app developers consider very small devices, so it's easy for odd dependencies to creep in and go unnoticed on the large desktop distros. Sep 20 15:00:59 ok. thank you very much again. and have a nice day! Sep 20 15:01:12 So this sort of thing is not unusual, but it may be that the bug is not so much in the dependencies, as it really might be in the code or makefile itself... Sep 20 16:18:40 ok, the svnserve missing libuuid problem has been fixed in apr-util starting 1.2.10-4 Sep 20 21:52:35 hey Sep 20 21:52:51 any debian guys here who can help me with the NPE-B microcode? Sep 20 22:44:10 or any debian guys in general? :/ Sep 20 22:46:35 <|Lunar_Lamp|> Hmm Sep 20 22:46:48 <|Lunar_Lamp|> I thought there was a version that sorted it all out for you? **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Sep 21 02:59:57 2007
