**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun May 31 02:59:57 2009 May 31 17:35:33 Hello Guys been while sence i tested this project last i tryed useing a nslu2 worked very well and setup was not to hard May 31 17:36:44 i have reaceved a new n2lu2 and trying to install ( debian ) on it May 31 17:36:44 it flash's with "di-nslu2.bin" fine but then i cant ssh in to run the install May 31 17:36:48 And Network Dont show Device At all May 31 17:37:14 i can refash back to stock firmware then repeaste several time same thing every time May 31 17:37:31 can any 1 shed some lite what i may be done wrong May 31 17:44:44 Flash linksys firmware, then use linksys technique to reset network configuration to a static ip, then flash debian, it should use static IP (as long as you do not use the 192.168.1.77 default address!!!). May 31 17:46:24 yah i have set static ip several time that way May 31 17:46:35 currious my network is 10.10.10.1xx May 31 17:46:40 Could this be issue May 31 17:46:48 why? May 31 17:46:59 rather then 192.168.1.xxx May 31 17:47:21 My Local Network has been 10.10.10.xxx for many years now May 31 17:47:46 Unless debian has written code specially to target the 10.10.10.x IP range, which seems quite irrational, there is no reason to suspect that is an issue. May 31 17:47:50 Never had no issue before and if i can remem rite last nslu2 i did worked fine on that May 31 17:48:05 Ok May 31 17:48:19 just trying to cover all my base's May 31 17:48:38 i have Done linksys and set Ip quite few time now May 31 17:48:46 NSLU2 works just like any other network device. The question is what has the debian installer set the IP address to? The answer has previously been that it uses the network settings it finds in the existing firmware configuration. May 31 17:49:08 Rite May 31 17:49:22 I set ip to 10.10.10.105 May 31 17:49:23 The only odd thing was that it used to switch to DHCP if it detected that the NLSU2 was using the factory default IP address. May 31 17:49:36 ssh installer@10.10.10.105 May 31 17:49:40 No work May 31 17:49:43 and May 31 17:50:32 this shows me All Nic's And ports on my Network ( sudo nmap -v -sO --host-timeout 20000 10.10.10.0/24 ) but after Applying ( debian ) firmware i cant see it any more May 31 17:50:49 You'll need to snoop the network to see if you can figure out what address it's using, and/or check the Debian/ARM IRC channel (the debian folks don't hang out here). May 31 17:52:06 ok i have snoped the net Guess ill do some more research or Try Some thing Different on it ( t/y ) for your time **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Jun 10 01:42:29 2009
