Nov 16 19:51:08 <mwester> pretty much a goner then.  You can try to boot the device up without external storage, telnet in, hot-plug the disk, and then edit the files on disk directly to reset the port settings.

Nov 16 19:52:30 <mwester> telnet is inherently a security issue; but openssh is too big to be pre-installed.  So telnet is installed for the purpose of getting openssh installed, and at that point you should never use telnet again.

Nov 16 20:16:26 <mwester> If not, then you'll have to follow the instructions on the wiki to reset the sysconfig -- but do that only as a last resort, becuase if you type even a single digit wrong when you do that reset of the sysconfig partition, you will brick the unit permanently!
