**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Dec 18 02:59:57 2009 Dec 18 04:40:04 Hi, I need some help installing libusb Dec 18 04:40:12 on Openslug 5.3 Dec 18 04:40:22 err Dec 18 04:40:33 I mean SlugOs BE Dec 18 04:40:51 I have tried opkg install libusb-1.0 Dec 18 04:42:25 Im tring to install SANE Dec 18 04:43:09 It isn't going to work. Dec 18 04:43:30 Really? Dec 18 04:43:37 really Dec 18 04:43:49 what part? Dec 18 04:44:07 libusb vs libusb-compat got screwed up somehow Dec 18 04:44:18 sucks Dec 18 04:44:52 so theres no way in slugos 5.3? Dec 18 04:45:09 Well, no legitimate, supported way. Dec 18 04:45:24 what about some other firmware? Dec 18 04:45:38 I have no idea. Dec 18 04:45:46 Ok Dec 18 04:45:53 seems to work fine in the latest alpha slugos versions, though. Dec 18 04:45:56 thanks any way Dec 18 04:46:42 where can I get that? Dec 18 04:47:42 5.4? Dec 18 04:47:50 You can try to opkg remove the libusb* packages that are installed, then add the unstable feeds, do an opkg update, opkg install libusb-whatever-you-need, and see how that works. Dec 18 04:48:10 That way it's mostly 5.3, with just the fixed libusb* packages. Dec 18 04:48:16 ok Dec 18 04:49:22 so just create a file called something like unstable-feed in /etc/opkg, with the following contents: Dec 18 04:49:45 src/gz unstable http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/slugosbe/cross/unstable Dec 18 04:49:58 (from memory, but that should be right) Dec 18 04:50:50 ok Ill see haow far I can get in that. Dec 18 04:54:42 Ok I made the folder, how do I get the files into it? Dec 18 04:57:05 some thing like wget http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/sluosbe/cross/unstable ? Dec 18 04:58:29 You should have created a file, not a directory... there are others in that same place (/etc/opkg) with similar contents that you can use as an example. Dec 18 04:58:45 ok, I be back later Dec 18 04:58:52 then you do the normal stuff with opkg to update your feed list, and then you can install. Dec 18 04:59:10 Hm. well. Dec 18 06:52:24 hello Dec 18 06:53:26 i use xinetd from optware package Dec 18 06:54:32 in file /opt/etc/hosts.deny i have added a line with spawn Dec 18 06:57:00 in messages i receive warning: /opt/etc/hosts.deny, line 1: open /dev/null: Is a directory Dec 18 06:58:33 * i use xinetd witch tcpd Dec 18 08:49:31 Morning! Is anybody awak and feeling in the mood for attempting to diagnose spurious USB problems? :) Dec 18 10:02:29 Is nobody awake?
