**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Jan 14 02:59:57 2010 Jan 14 14:47:37 hello all Jan 14 14:56:54 I installed debian on my NSLU2 which worked like a charm Jan 14 15:02:27 after changing some things to reduce memory and write activity on my USB drive I ended with these commands: Jan 14 15:02:38 update-initramfs -u and flash-kernel (last command wasn't necessary cause update-initramfs -u did the same) Jan 14 15:02:53 but know my NSLU2 won't boot anymore. How do I fix that? What could be wrong? Jan 14 15:14:09 tjukkie: very difficult to say Jan 14 15:14:46 both update-initramfs & flash-kernel are related to making the slugs disk "bootable" Jan 14 15:15:16 i think your best bet is to take the disk out, plug it in another machine and see if there is anything in the logs. Jan 14 15:20:54 k Jan 14 15:21:15 I did have a look at the logs Jan 14 15:21:22 but don't know what to look for Jan 14 15:21:25 any suggestions? Jan 14 15:22:59 I don't mind to re-install, but without the USB flash drive there's only the Ethernet led which is green, but I can't access the nslu2 with the IP adress I installed it with Jan 14 15:56:52 I can't even to get it in upgrade mode Jan 14 15:57:09 no ready/status LED comes on at all Jan 14 16:36:45 tjukkie: don't really know im afraid. sounds a bit dodgy that it won't go into upgrade mode. Jan 14 16:36:57 with luck someone else will have more experience. Jan 14 16:41:37 I find it weird to it won't go into upgrade mode Jan 14 16:41:53 maybe power supply not good anymore Jan 14 16:44:49 well Jan 14 16:44:51 thats possible Jan 14 16:45:11 my powersupply went and things went a bit crazy Jan 14 16:57:48 hmm Jan 14 16:57:55 I hope that's it. Jan 14 16:58:28 HRH_H_Crab: could you show me your /etc/fstab Jan 14 16:59:46 and what did you use to replace it? Jan 14 17:12:57 my fstab is a bit custom but here goes: Jan 14 17:13:36 crab@shatin:~$ cat /etc/fstab Jan 14 17:13:36 # /etc/fstab: static file system information. Jan 14 17:13:36 # Jan 14 17:13:36 # Jan 14 17:13:39 proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 Jan 14 17:13:42 /dev/sda3 / ext3 errors=remount-ro 0 1 Jan 14 17:13:45 /dev/sda1 /boot ext3 defaults 0 2 Jan 14 17:13:47 /dev/sda2 none swap sw 0 0 Jan 14 17:13:50 none /tmp tmpfs size=1G 0 0 Jan 14 17:14:00 as for replacing the powersupply, i just bought a new one with the same connector Jan 14 17:14:03 hang on... Jan 14 17:14:45 http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Info/PowerSupply Jan 14 17:15:01 that should give you the info you need if you want to replace your powersupply.
