**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Jun 15 02:59:57 2010 Jun 15 14:13:21 Hello! Does somebody know how do I install a optware/ipkg package to another user? Jun 15 14:13:37 AS like, if I'm root how do I install xyz to user foobar ? Jun 15 14:26:52 nahkiss, that makes no sense at all. Jun 15 14:27:06 packages are scoped to the system, not to a user. Jun 15 14:27:10 (unlike windows) Jun 15 14:36:20 Ahh okay Jun 15 20:46:35 Hi there, I am some difficulties with my slug, I had to change my router and reconfigure the network a litlle, now it seems that my slug can't reach the dns : ping : www.google.com : Host name lookup failure .... Please help Jun 15 20:50:19 your network settings are wrong. Look at your dns and gateway settings, and edit to match your new network configuration. Jun 15 20:50:21 I must have my config messed up in the slug. I do have obtain ip from dhcp in the main web interface Jun 15 20:52:47 mwester : if I change the network from the web interface, does the interface goes down and up by itself or should I reboot the slug ? Jun 15 20:53:54 reboot Jun 15 20:55:44 I usually don't reboot the slug, but I have done it today and it does bip many times (!). I had the feeling that it used to bip only twice before. Do you think that it means there is a problem somewhere ? Jun 15 20:58:11 Well, now I know, it meant that the network configuration was not correct, as I have only one bip now. Jun 15 21:03:37 mwester: I am puzzled about the telnet login, I first login with ssh, then reset my root password to some value. I can then connect to my slug, but after reboot, it seems that the password changed, as I can't connect. Normal behavior would be that the root login doesn't change after reboot, correct ? Jun 15 21:06:14 found the answer to my previous post Jun 15 21:24:57 mwester: thanks for the help at the start, I was close to a panic attack... Jun 15 21:28:59 has anyone anny idea about this : # ipkg upgrade Jun 15 21:29:01 Upgrading e2fslibs on root from 1.41.4-1 to 1.41.9-1... Jun 15 21:29:41 http://ipkg2.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/unslung/cross/e2fslibs-dev_1.41.9-1_armeb.ipk Jun 15 21:29:47 Visit it, it's not Jun 15 21:29:50 the index says it is Jun 15 21:30:40 Reedy : thanks, so do you know if it will be fixed ? Jun 15 21:31:04 or is it some long lasting error ? Jun 15 21:31:07 It's an ongoing problem, i'm not really sure. The mailing lists might yield more results Jun 15 21:37:08 Ready: thanks Jun 15 21:37:17 Reedy: thx Jun 16 01:10:23 i'm running debian arm (armv5tel) on my nslu2. apparently, this port is deprecated in the next debian release in favor of the new arm port. i'm considering two options: 1) migrate my debian to the arm port (how do i do that?). 2) switch to openwrt (how stable is it on nslu2?) Jun 16 01:11:06 actually the new debian port is armel, not arm **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Jun 16 02:59:56 2010
