I'm considering installing optware by following this tutorial http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Main/PlugComputers , my only concern is backing up the stock firmware. Is there a way to backup the standard pogoplug firmware, so i can get back to stage one if anything goes wrong? Feb 12 20:37:40 That question is not so much an optware question as it is a plug computer question -- you might enquire in #openplug instead. Feb 12 20:38:05 And the answer is no, you cannot back up the pre-installed software easily in any useful format for recovery. Feb 12 20:38:47 thanks for the answer... what do I then do if I brick the thing? Feb 12 20:40:08 No idea about the pogoplug -- if you don't have a serial port or jtag port, it might be hard. Feb 12 20:40:41 You'll have to ask somewhere that more plug experts hang about, I think. Feb 12 20:40:58 thanks for the help. I will try to ask the openplug guys Feb 12 20:41:06 have a great day **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sun Feb 13 02:59:56 2011
