**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Jan 05 02:59:58 2016 Jan 05 12:37:47 hey! struggling with creating a yocto-style kernel recipe. I've supplied a defconfig which enables OMAP2 support but when I look at the ${B}/.config generated by do_configure, it seem to not have OMAP2 enabled. In fact, it does not at all look like my defconfig. My defconfig gets properly copied into ${WORKDIR}. Any clues how I can debug where my config is lost along the way? Jan 05 12:40:15 mago__: that doesn't look like yocto-style Jan 05 12:40:45 mago__: linux-yocto is using kern-tools-native and whatnot to generate defconfig with magic Jan 05 12:41:15 AFAIK, I'm still used to do normal linux.inc-style kernel recipes Jan 05 12:42:55 JaMa: yeah, it's using the "configme" tool of kern-tools. But I don't think it will generate defconfig, does it? i was under the impression that I supply a defconfig, and it will merge any config frags and apply patches, as described by my SCC files Jan 05 13:02:03 JaMa: so to generate a defconfig in a yocto-style kernel, i have to express every single config directive as metadata? Jan 05 13:25:23 sorry I don't know, I'm successfully trying to avoid any linux-yocto knowledge Jan 05 13:25:35 :) Jan 05 13:26:09 I hate when the tool to solve something is more difficult to use than the problem it is supposed to fix :) Jan 05 13:26:23 I would like to define my KERNEL_FEATURES in my machine config, is it possible without linux-yocto? Up til now I've added SRC_URI fragments in my kernel recipe, but it just looks nasty to have per-machine stuff in my kernel recipe Jan 05 18:11:31 morning all Jan 05 18:12:51 gm Jan 05 18:16:06 morning blue Jan 05 19:40:33 JaMa, https://twitter.com/internetofshit/status/684459058829512704 Jan 05 19:58:09 Crofton|work: must be the old OS :) Jan 05 19:58:15 :) Jan 05 19:58:26 I think gpsd fials to build on master again Jan 05 19:58:38 not for me yet IIRC Jan 05 19:58:51 hmm, it blew on me jsut now Jan 05 19:59:03 at least TVs have "Reset to factory setting" feature which should get rid of ransomware DNS like this Jan 05 19:59:32 could be something completely new Jan 05 19:59:56 yeah, there is a suspicious commit Jan 05 20:00:15 http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gpsd.git/commit/?id=ade44708148b3034b19e1e8226bb10ac42f6289c Jan 05 20:01:43 do you have "gpsd: Fix build with gcc-5.2" from me? Jan 05 20:02:18 ah this is some follow-up to it Jan 05 20:02:37 damn no Jan 05 20:02:44 is that on ein master? Jan 05 20:03:13 y Jan 05 20:03:19 are you using gcc-5.3? Jan 05 20:03:53 yes, 5.3 Jan 05 20:03:55 mast oe-core Jan 05 20:06:22 bother adding that patch didn't help Jan 05 20:09:59 bother, I'll need to figure this out at some point Jan 05 20:13:13 tut tut, looks like rain... Jan 05 22:15:43 * nerdboy pings otavio one more time Jan 05 22:16:19 we're waiting for the sdcards so i should have everything thursday i think Jan 05 22:17:04 apparently those olinuxino boards are based on the old (pre-sdcrad fix) reference design Jan 05 22:17:36 * nerdboy guessing that's mostly why they are "unmaintained" Jan 05 22:35:21 otavio: so we're still on the hook afaik for "maintaining" the mini/maxi boards Jan 05 22:35:43 as long as the stupid sdcards work... **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Jan 06 02:59:58 2016
