**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu May 13 02:59:56 2010 May 13 05:33:05 good morning May 13 05:34:33 the german openmoko wikipedia page claims that the freerunner has been criticized for having worse graphic performance than the 1973. is there anything to that? May 13 05:48:30 ah, here: http://lists.openmoko.org/pipermail/community/2010-February/060278.html May 13 07:36:15 Hi all. May 13 11:24:20 hi May 13 11:25:23 hi May 13 12:26:42 After calypso firmware upgrade (to moko11), I experience strange behavior of Freerunner (GTA02 A7+). Using SHR if it suspends...it will never wake up..and I'm unable to boot in other ways than NOR bootloader. does anybody exerienced similar problems? May 13 13:02:41 leosaeba: i have same problem here with latest version of shr-unstable. if the freerunner suspends, it won't wake up again. i've turned off auto suspend, basically, otherwise it's unuseable. May 13 13:07:05 djp_: I see, the fact is that last time I used sht-testing it used to work...now it doesn't...in the meantime I've upgraded gsm module in order to install android (I didn't make it anyway). May 13 13:08:19 leosaeba: i've never had any trouble with coming out of suspend before. i've only ever run shr-unstable on my freerunner. it's only the latest version (released 7.5.2010) that has caused the issue for me. May 13 13:12:58 djp_: Right now I'm flashing an old shr version I had previously (and I'm sure it used to work)...So I'll be sure it is not because of the gsm upgrade. May 13 13:14:38 have you ever tried to install android? I tried but the autoinstall process get stuck on a white screen right after flashing qi. :( May 13 13:15:20 leosaeba: no. never tired to install android. May 13 13:15:28 tire=tried ;) May 13 13:15:41 * djp_ can't type today... May 13 13:16:31 :) May 13 13:22:59 hello May 13 13:23:19 I would like to let you know that there is a new May 13 13:23:24 GameRunner Version. May 13 13:23:33 http://gamerunner.sourceforge.net/games.html May 13 13:23:46 New games and fixes :) May 13 13:45:37 djp_: I've just finished installing the old SHR version....the suspend problem is still there...and I'm sure it used to work... May 13 13:50:51 leosaeba: i am using moko11 on my phone, and suspend works fine for me, but i am not using shr May 13 13:52:15 a hint....I've tryed again...and it refused to suspend...on dmesg here what I got: May 13 13:52:49 PM: Device neo1973-pm-gsm.o failed to suspend: error -16 May 13 13:53:47 maybe I need to set some configuration for the gsm module...I really don't know.. May 13 14:13:02 leosaeba: are you using unstable or testing? with old unstable versions i was fine... issue has appeared for me with the latest version of unstable May 13 14:13:18 * djp_ has to pop out on school run... back soon... May 13 14:16:43 djp_: I think it is testing...but the fact is I have the same files I flashed 1 month ago ... they used to work then ... now they don't. The only thing changed in the mean time is the gsm firmware version May 13 15:24:10 leosaeba: haven't changed my gsm firmware version here. only things changed are the root file system image and kernel image. May 13 15:42:44 leosaeba: there is a newer kernel image available now... i'll try that and see if it sorts out the suspend issue... May 13 16:05:54 djp_: why would you want to suspend a phone? May 13 16:07:43 battery life May 13 16:07:44 battery life May 13 16:07:45 battery life May 13 16:07:47 :) May 13 16:08:30 phone is useless if suspended... May 13 16:08:39 wakes up on incoming call May 13 16:08:48 and on power button press May 13 16:08:52 need more? May 13 16:11:19 need to be running to get incoming stu ff May 13 16:12:02 what stuff? May 13 16:12:19 voice calls, IMs, etc May 13 16:12:22 luke-jr: it wakes up from suspend when receiving a call May 13 16:12:55 luke-jr: so no issues there. always worked fine in the past. May 13 16:13:01 djp_: how? May 13 16:13:14 if it's suspended, it can't get a call... May 13 16:13:22 bullshit May 13 16:13:31 the gsm modem is another chip and stays awake May 13 16:13:44 who said anything about GSM? May 13 16:13:53 and has a connection to an interrupt pin May 13 16:14:03 gprs is gsm too May 13 16:14:05 the majority of my calls are going to be over 802.11 May 13 16:14:46 FR supports waking up via WiFi as well May 13 16:15:47 fullmac wifi nic ftw May 13 16:17:17 hmm... tried latest kernel to see if it would make a difference, but no go. trying to bring fr back to life by pressing power button, but screen just displays small flashing cursor in top left corner and... nothing. :( ah, well. suspend will have to be turned off for now. guess it's a bug in the latest shr-unstable release. May 13 16:19:58 FR supports waking up via WiFi without waking up for ARP? :p May 13 17:27:23 how likely is it that the freerunner will ever support CDMA? May 13 17:28:15 http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/CDMA May 13 17:35:14 <[Rui]> hi, how can I record a call? May 13 17:40:15 <[Rui]> ooo dictator... May 13 18:10:06 findlay: 0% May 13 18:10:37 the existing openmoko devices do not support CDMA and will never. May 13 18:10:57 yes, in theory you could swap the modem May 13 18:11:41 but noone in their right mindset would attempt such an expensive and futile thing May 13 20:05:04 recon who fried opkg.org? May 13 20:05:41 thats just childish May 13 20:10:54 fried? May 13 20:11:39 :) May 13 20:12:59 sunny side up? May 13 20:18:50 maybe i was dreaming instead May 13 20:35:37 djp_: I understand that your FR wakes up when you press the power button, but then hangs.....My problem is very different....The power button does nothing! The only way to bring it on is to remove the battery and aux+pwr to the NOR bootloader... May 13 20:38:12 djp_: Yesterday the phone acted even more strangely; when I plugged the battery, it cycled a brief red AUX led blink plus a brief vibration...every 1 or 2 seconds....
