**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Jan 20 02:59:57 2011 Jan 20 12:26:19 hi all Jan 20 12:29:42 I just find on ebay a FreeRunner GTA02 A6 sn.8a8704522. Jan 20 12:30:11 it is A6 revision without BuzzFix and others... Jan 20 12:31:40 ..my question is: is it possible to do all A7 fix from myself? Jan 20 12:34:44 L1man_: buzzfix is essential to use as a phone. Jan 20 12:34:57 L1man_: it's moderately easy for anybody who's doing electronics nowadays. Jan 20 12:35:28 L1man_: if you can desolder 0402R, you can do that. Jan 20 12:38:53 L1man_: #1024 fix is reasonably easy too. Jan 20 13:20:19 thanks Jan 20 13:23:49 where I can find detail of BuzzFix resolution, I search on wiki and I find "There is a fix for it, but it requires highly technical hardware skills." Jan 20 13:24:07 on http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/GSM_buzz Jan 20 13:24:14 L1man_: hold on Jan 20 13:24:42 L1man_: http://people.openmoko.org/joerg/GSM_EMI_noise/big-C_rework_SOP_rc2.pdf Jan 20 13:59:10 PaulFertser: thanks! Jan 20 14:05:39 L1man_: welcome Jan 20 14:20:47 for someonelse how read this conversaation ... #1024 could be fiz with this rework http://lists.openmoko.org/pipermail/hardware/2009-May/001192.html Jan 20 14:21:00 fix ...no fiz Jan 20 14:21:48 L1man_: yes Jan 20 14:44:06 hi again. Could you give me more details about Jan 20 14:44:24 Better recovers from completely empty or no battery on "http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/GTA02_revisions#GTA02_A6_to_A7_changes" Jan 20 14:45:41 L1man_: A7 has even a bigger capacitor on CPU supply (or something like that), thus allowing to boot using usb-only even better. But do not bother, it's not that important. Jan 20 14:47:15 L1man_: i mean mostly my A6 is able to start on usb supply too. I've to admit i once had to recover from flat battery in a tricky way by manually holding lab psu connectors attached to the terminals, then fully booting and hot-swapping for the real battery. Jan 20 14:47:36 But with PC at home there's no need for that trick. Or with a spare nokia battery. Jan 20 14:48:35 spare nokia battery is good to have,ye Jan 20 14:49:28 why? It fit in battery connector of freeruner? which nokia battery model? Jan 20 14:49:49 L1man_: BL-6C is the best but 4C and 5C also fit (but have less capacity). Jan 20 14:50:03 L1man_: you can read more about that in battery q&a. Jan 20 14:50:16 !battery Jan 20 14:50:25 apt: come on man Jan 20 14:50:51 apt: you nasty boy Jan 20 14:55:29 yes battery fix described here... http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Neo_FreeRunner_Hardware_Issues#Can.27t_boot_with_discharged_or_missing_battery_.28FIXED.29 Jan 20 14:55:57 only one more question... Jan 20 14:56:14 ... there's a way to search open issues... Jan 20 14:56:28 ... from http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/. Jan 20 14:56:29 ? Jan 20 14:56:47 http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/2476...seams to not be an issue?!?! ;-) Jan 20 14:56:53 http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/2476 Jan 20 15:31:17 hi there Jan 20 15:34:32 I'm based in the UK and have 3 pretty much brand new unused what I think are GTA01BV4 neo1973 handets... are they likely to be any use to anyone, and if so who :-) Not after a huge amount for them but would at least like to get postage covered and something above that :) Jan 20 15:37:07 http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p272.m570.l1313&_nkw=neo1973&_sacat=See-All-Categories Jan 20 15:37:11 Or not. Jan 20 15:37:53 I'm unsure wha the state of the software is currently supporting the neo19773 - though I have one. Jan 20 15:38:08 hehe - even the batteries there haven't sold as far as the ebay records go back :-) Jan 20 15:38:42 I can't quite bring myself to just throw them away, but they're of no use at all to me Jan 20 15:38:55 :/ Jan 20 15:39:00 Know how that goes. Jan 20 15:39:43 one hasn't even been opened :-( the project they were bought for was canned before it even got going Jan 20 15:40:14 Jogu: let me ask around a bit Jan 20 15:41:09 Tm_T> would be great, thanks.
