Jun 16 09:17:21 not yet Jun 16 09:17:55 but it's way more geeky than a boring 7-segment digital clock Jun 16 09:18:26 and better control over ringtones :-) Jun 16 09:19:13 you're not using pulseaudio then Jun 16 09:19:51 and if you keep it from suspending which you would want anyway, then it's also quite reliable, even survives mains blackouts Jun 16 09:20:11 ME??? PukeAudio? no way! Jun 16 09:20:22 I'm not poettering Jun 16 09:20:29 ~poettering Jun 16 09:20:29 'sth is poettering' means it acts invasive, possessive, destructive, and generally in an egocentric exacerbating negative way. ``this cancer is extremely poettering'' Jun 16 09:21:13 DocScrutinizer: i am thinking of a webradio or gps logging installation Jun 16 09:23:18 well, it probably makes for a nice sturdy versatile GPS logger Jun 16 09:24:16 only problem: when carrying it on a lanyard it's upside down for GPS -> poor signal from sats Jun 16 09:24:49 unfortunately i have no/less knowledge on programming robotors ... i am pretty sure that it would make pretty sense to use it as controlling unit Jun 16 09:25:34 DocScrutinizer: never tried it, i thought of using it while running but it if the signal is poor in that case, hmmm Jun 16 09:26:34 you'd probably need a pouch to carry it upside up on your belt Jun 16 09:27:03 i remember, the gps module was on the upper side:-) Jun 16 09:27:25 I actually used to place it in my jacket's pocket to record tracks when walking. WFM Jun 16 09:27:33 yup Jun 16 09:28:05 on top there's the GPS ant Jun 16 10:04:53 hello folks. I need some help with the Debug Board Jun 16 10:05:35 I have it connected to the PC (recognized OK as ttyUSB0) and to the moko, but the moko does not turn on when plugging it Jun 16 10:05:55 nor if I explicitly push the power button Jun 16 12:36:25 hmm Jun 16 13:08:35 hi Jun 16 13:09:19 i decided to put my freerunner into action again, whats the most usefull software stack if i want to use it as navi Jun 16 13:13:36 ronny: hey Jun 16 13:13:43 Sounds nice Jun 16 13:13:55 ronny: foxtrotgps + navit probably Jun 16 21:22:27 hi Jun 16 21:22:44 can anyone point me to a howto for removing the case of the phone? i cant find it in the wiki Jun 16 21:23:44 i just did the gsm/sd fix, now i want to do the buzzfix Jun 16 21:25:31 ronny: yo Jun 16 21:25:59 ronny: guess what: googling "disassembling site:wiki.openmoko.org" gives what you need on the first link ;) Jun 16 21:26:36 thanks, keyword fail on my side Jun 16 21:26:49 welcome :) Jun 16 21:27:09 ronny: what do you mean by gsm/sd fix? Jun 16 21:27:23 Adding a cap to one of the SD lines? Jun 16 21:38:28 PaulFertser: yeah Jun 16 21:38:53 PaulFertser: now im taking a look if i can do the buzzfix sinc i got the stuff out of the phone Jun 16 21:39:02 ronny: that's mostly useless as all the kernels since ages control sd drive strength by software means. Jun 16 21:40:18 PaulFertser: i still had issues anyway, and its the most easy hardware fix to get started with Jun 16 21:46:59 ronny: the issues might have been related to a faulty antenna connector or a semi-broken cable etc. What kernel were you using when you had issues? Jun 16 21:47:48 ronny: in modern kernels the drive strength is a function of SD card speed, so you might have tried lowering the freq to 10MHz. Jun 16 21:52:30 PaulFertser: dont have it off hand right now, the device is disassembled atm, preparing the buzz fix Jun 16 21:52:48 ronny: np Jun 16 21:53:25 ronny: in 2.6.29 you can control sd_drive manually, on newer you can control the max freq only (and it'll lower the strength). Jun 16 21:54:29 im sure i had a lower one Jun 16 23:22:13 re Jun 16 23:22:55 PaulFertser: any idea what could have gone wrong, if the buzz-fix mutes down the mic ? Jun 17 02:35:40 PaulFertser: now that's a nasty "regression" Jun 17 02:36:03 (kernel means to control drive strength) Jun 17 02:37:11 ronny: now that's a question impossible to answer Jun 17 02:38:21 ronny: I added every advice and detailed instruction I possibly could think of, to buzzfix SoP paper Jun 17 02:41:36 ronny: if it doesn't work then you did something wrong - or you're using a completely wrong alsa.state file that isn't enabling the right input from mic. There are two inputs which in original design have a differential signal. After buzzfix only one of the MICP MICN lines has signal anymore. If your mixer setup used and still uses only the other mic signal line then that also may result in "not working" **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Jun 17 02:59:56 2011
