On my plug (running stock ubuntu with kernel 2.6.22.18) the pdflush kernel process often takes 99% CPU for extended periods of time, making processes doing IO irresponsive for Jun 12 21:47:18 many minutes. I looked at dirty pages, and there were only a handful. This even happens if there is no major IO going on at all in the first place. Any suggestions? Anyone else experiencing this problem? Jun 12 21:49:52 (I should mention that I am using a 4 GB USB stick for /home, but the problem does not seem to be limited to writes to /home). **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Jun 12 22:02:30 2009 **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Jun 12 22:03:25 2009 Jun 12 22:11:17 sonic74, Jun 12 22:12:18 oh pfff he's been idle for 6 hours...sleeping Jun 12 22:25:03 grothoff: I had that happen too... it was my my slow SD card with the writes being too slow... turning cron off helped, but I eventually moved root over to a real hard drive Jun 12 22:26:50 so much faster Jun 13 00:41:00 Bryanstein?
