**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sat Jul 09 02:59:57 2011 Jul 09 03:28:05 ahigerd: there was some discussion of cryptodev either on the fedora arm mailing list or the itc channel. Can't remember which. Problem is that the apps that use crypto tend to have static linked libraries if I remember correctly. They need to be reworked to use libraries that will connect to the cryptodev device driver. Anyway check on the #fedora-arm Jul 09 03:28:07 http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/ARM Jul 09 03:28:33 https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/arm Jul 09 03:34:40 tinker-f595: I already did patch OpenSSL for it; that's not the problem Jul 09 03:34:57 tinker-f595: It's erroring out during the handshake Jul 09 03:35:19 well that sounds like another problem unrelated to crypto then Jul 09 03:35:37 unless you are invoking the wrong type of encryption Jul 09 03:36:45 It's assuredly not an issue with the crypto itself; all of the individual ciphers are working Jul 09 03:37:33 ahigerd: so did you put your patch somewhere useful? Jul 09 03:37:53 I didn't patch it myself; I found someone else's patch from a forum post on plugcomputer Jul 09 03:38:02 * ahigerd rummages for the link Jul 09 03:38:33 Oh, it was on newit Jul 09 03:38:41 ah Jul 09 03:38:44 http://www.newit.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2030.msg5671.html#msg5671 Jul 09 03:39:03 Works great for actually calculating AES-128 and SHA-1 Jul 09 03:39:15 But I haven't the foggiest how to start debugging this Jul 09 03:39:52 ahigerd: maybe I'll try that for fedora arm Jul 09 03:39:58 thanks by the way Jul 09 03:40:03 No problem Jul 09 03:40:11 Lots of people have had success using this with dm-crypt Jul 09 03:40:16 It's SSL that's the problem right now Jul 09 03:40:37 I'll also post it to the fedora arm IRC channel in case they want to make a patch for marvell devices Jul 09 03:40:41 k Jul 09 03:40:43 Good idea Jul 09 03:40:44 anyway dinner time ere Jul 09 03:41:09 Enjoy Jul 09 15:27:15 Anyone today have any experience trying to get the onboard crypto hardware working with OpenSSL? Jul 09 17:17:13 ahigerd: take a look at this thread http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/arm/2011-May/001330.html Jul 09 17:17:38 That very post is the reason I STARTED this whole quest. :P Jul 09 17:17:53 ha Jul 09 17:18:00 well he got it working Jul 09 17:18:03 I reproduce his results with "openssl speed" but "openssl s_server" bombs out Jul 09 17:18:13 I've dropped him a line to see if he has any further pointers Jul 09 17:18:41 I've also dropped a mail on the OpenSSL for some pointers on how to proceed in debugging. Jul 09 17:18:45 OpenSSL ML* Jul 09 17:19:24 I'm half-wondering if maybe the issue goes beyond OpenSSL and the kernel and there's some other library interfering (libc perhaps) Jul 09 17:19:28 Since he's using Fedora, not Debian Jul 09 17:19:46 maybe you should reply to that email thread at the appropriate point in the thread so there is a record of what you found and need Jul 09 17:19:52 * tinker-f595 away Jul 09 17:20:33 Seems a bit inappropriate to reply to a Fedora ML with an issue that came up on a Debian system >.>; Jul 09 17:20:54 But talk to you later Jul 09 18:16:01 I was hearing something about some sort of startup daemon in here yesterday and I'm curious, but I don't know what it was and my logs aren't helping me find it Jul 09 19:44:21 ahigerd: they are very open minded **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sun Jul 10 02:59:58 2011
