So, I fetched an original copy from SVN trunk and now it compiles fine for MIPSEL platform, but errs out these error messages (http://pastebin.com/qWtgJYNM) on ARM platform. To circumvent this issue, I modified my local packages/net/bind/Makefile as seen here (http://pastebin.com/b5qxiz8G) and now it Jan 13 12:17:32 compiles fine for both MIPSEL and ARM platform. Jan 13 12:18:55 jow_laptop: I hope that is a proper way to do to solve the issue. Jan 13 12:39:16 build #103 of avr32 is complete: Failure [failed compile_4] Build details are at http://buildbot.openwrt.org:8010/builders/avr32/builds/103 Jan 13 12:44:18 hey Jan 13 12:44:40 hey dadada Jan 13 12:44:44 wooo Jan 13 12:45:06 mister monster Jan 13 12:45:56 currently building overlaysfv11 for 3.0; if it works, I'll commit it (v12 is just v11 updated for 3.3, so no reason to use it) Jan 13 12:46:08 2.6.39 worked Jan 13 12:46:49 you sure, I think I saw some fixes in the recent changelog in git Jan 13 12:47:50 http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/mszeredi/vfs.git;a=log;h=refs/heads/overlayfs.v12 Jan 13 12:49:10 dadada: doesn't really look different to http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/mszeredi/vfs.git;a=log;h=refs/heads/overlayfs.v11 Jan 13 12:49:31 have to test this anyways, this will tell us all we need to know ... Jan 13 12:51:00 KanjiMonster: ok, that's strange, the dates for v12 are all different, but else it looks similar Jan 13 12:52:45 * dadada wonders if you can do a diff between the two tags in the onlinetool Jan 13 12:54:33 no Jan 13 12:55:56 KanjiMonster: why are you building for 3.0, where is that used in openwrt? Jan 13 12:56:18 oh, I see, you mean overlayfsv11 is for 3.0 Jan 13 12:56:29 0/win 38 Jan 13 12:56:39 38, phew Jan 13 12:56:45 haha Jan 13 12:56:58 i wanted to type /win 8 Jan 13 12:57:02 dadada: brcm63xx is my test platform; it's currently at 2.6.39 but has patches for 3.0 and 3.1, so I can use it to build and runtime test 2.5.39, 3.0 and 3.1 (3.1 already uses v11) Jan 13 12:57:07 too much or too little coffee Jan 13 12:57:11 ;) Jan 13 12:57:32 *2.6.39 - it definely doesn't work with 2.5 :p Jan 13 12:57:59 :P Jan 13 12:58:49 when it works with 2.6.39 and fixes the bug, you'll somehow merge it with openwrt repos??? magic will happen and it will appear in all of the snapshot builds, yeah?? ;-) Jan 13 13:02:23 dadada: yes Jan 13 13:02:39 I use the magic of "svn commit" :p Jan 13 13:04:29 dadada: though unless the bmx6 git fixes itself or somebody uploads a source tarball you'll have to build it yourself, the builders are currently failing because of bmxd not building Jan 13 13:04:53 what's bmx6 ? Jan 13 13:06:15 latest build for ar71xx seems to be January 9th, ..., now I get why Jan 13 13:20:17 KanjiMonster: you will commit to trunk? Jan 13 13:20:29 dadada: yes Jan 13 13:21:00 ok, then I'll just wait, hope building isn't to difficult... haven't done it in a long time Jan 13 13:21:22 dadada: usually it isn't difficult, just time consuming Jan 13 13:21:43 my laptop isn't exactly the powerhorse... :-) Jan 13 13:23:00 dadada: I did my first openwrt builds in a linux vm on an athlon 600, just building a default image took half a day ;) Jan 13 13:23:46 what does default image mean... are all the snapshots defaults? Jan 13 13:24:25 yeah, I remember the days when I built kde or even kdevelop, or the linux kernel on 1ghz athlon, or gcc ... Jan 13 13:25:18 default means just the default packages selected; snapshot builds have everything selected to be built (because many kernel modules cannot be selected afterwards and have to be built at the same time when building the image) Jan 13 13:25:31 (well almost everything) Jan 13 13:27:39 maybe better to wait for the snapshot, or how would I know which modules I'll ever need Jan 13 14:37:32 jogo * r29725 /trunk/ (29 files in 11 dirs): kernel: update linux 3.0 to 3.0.17 Jan 13 14:38:57 jogo * r29726 /trunk/ (24 files in 6 dirs): kernel: update linux 3.1 to 3.1.9 Jan 13 14:46:59 build #105 of ar7 is complete: Failure [failed compile_6] Build details are at http://buildbot.openwrt.org:8010/builders/ar7/builds/105 Jan 13 14:55:34 build #104 of sibyte is complete: Failure [failed compile_6] Build details are at http://buildbot.openwrt.org:8010/builders/sibyte/builds/104 Jan 13 14:56:56 hm why is bmxd failing the build anyway? those builds are running with IGNORE_ERRORS=m Jan 13 14:57:38 jow_laptop: looks like source retrieval failures still abort the build Jan 13 15:55:53 moo Jan 13 16:19:59 build #103 of xburst is complete: Failure [failed compile_6] Build details are at http://buildbot.openwrt.org:8010/builders/xburst/builds/103 Jan 13 16:20:13 fullstop: moo Jan 13 18:26:39 build #103 of ixp4xx is complete: Failure [failed compile_6] Build details are at http://buildbot.openwrt.org:8010/builders/ixp4xx/builds/103 Jan 13 18:32:53 build #101 of kirkwood is complete: Failure [failed compile_6] Build details are at http://buildbot.openwrt.org:8010/builders/kirkwood/builds/101 Jan 13 19:18:13 jow * r29732 /trunk/target/linux/generic/files/drivers/net/phy/rtl8366_smi.c: [generic] rtl8366: fix rtl8366_smi_detect() after r29677 Jan 13 19:31:26 looking at this update, shouldn't the interfaces on line 26 not have the dash in them? https://dev.openwrt.org/changeset/26742/trunk/package/ppp/files/etc/ppp/ip-up Jan 13 19:32:14 I know removing the - from the ppp-* interface fixes hotplug for my pptp vpn Jan 13 19:32:36 no Jan 13 19:33:13 IPPARAM is the logical name (like "wan") and PPP_IFACE is the device ("3g-wan" or "pppoe-wan") Jan 13 19:34:28 I added "echo $* > /tmp/t" to the top of the file, and it shows "ppp0" for PPP_IFACE Jan 13 19:34:54 and removing the dash from ppp-* fixed hotplug for my pptp vpn server Jan 13 19:38:42 well this code path is only intended for uci managed ifaces which will have $proto-$uciname type names Jan 13 19:39:07 as stated in the very same place, non uci managed interfaces are supposed to be handled by generic hotplug Jan 13 19:39:24 ppp0 does not sound uci managed Jan 13 19:39:34 it'd be called pptp-whatever Jan 13 19:40:47 make sure the "/etc/hotplug2-common.rules" files does *not* contain a "next" in the "ACTION == add, DEVPATH is set, DEVICENAME ~~ ^ppp" rule Jan 13 19:43:09 the correct code path for unmanaged uci deviced would be /etc/hotplug.d/net/10-net Jan 13 19:45:11 swalker * r29733 /packages/net/bmxd/Makefile: [packages] bmxd: use the read-only source url Jan 13 20:05:43 jow_laptop: thanks, I will look into it Jan 13 20:09:28 build #103 of ar71xx is complete: Failure [failed compile_6] Build details are at http://buildbot.openwrt.org:8010/builders/ar71xx/builds/103 Jan 13 20:11:41 hauke * r29734 /trunk/target/linux/brcm47xx/patches-3.0/ (2 files): (log message trimmed) Jan 13 20:11:41 brcm47xx: update usb driver Jan 13 20:11:41 Add workarround for BCM5357 and BCM4749.
