Jan 14 12:02:43 kab-el: how slow is wifi for you and in what configuration? Jan 14 12:04:06 http://blackhole.sk/~kabel/tmp/hostapd.wlan0.conf Jan 14 12:04:08 http://blackhole.sk/~kabel/tmp/hostapd.wlan1.conf Jan 14 12:04:17 these are my hostapd conf files Jan 14 12:05:16 i am using kernel 4.3.2 with openwrt patches, with newest mt76 driver from your github, but from the master branch, not the mt76x3 branch Jan 14 12:05:45 on router i do nc -l -p 8888 on my pc nc IP 8888 >/dev/null Jan 14 12:06:27 i don't think nc is a good way to evaluate performance Jan 14 12:06:34 and the speed starts at ~1.5 MB/s, then slows down to ~480 KB/s, then for ~3 seconds drops to zero, then jumps between zero and 500 KB/s Jan 14 12:06:52 either way, the latest from the branch might work better for you Jan 14 12:07:09 what kind of device are you using? Jan 14 12:07:12 witi Jan 14 12:08:41 the speeds are same for both cards, the 5GHz and 2.4GHz Jan 14 12:52:55 jow r48235 trunk/package/system/procd/Makefile * procd: align early init PATH with rest of OpenWrt Jan 14 13:01:31 nbd: still poor, with the new driver Jan 14 13:01:59 nitroshift: hey, do you have the newest openwrt firmware on your witiboard? how fast is your wifi? Jan 14 13:05:39 kab-el: i'd recommend running fixup-mac-address Jan 14 13:05:44 and then rebooting Jan 14 13:06:01 unfortunately the witi ships with garbage mac addresses Jan 14 13:07:13 jow r48236 branches/chaos_calmer/ package/system/procd/patches package/system/procd/Makefile package/system/procd/patches/0001-Align-early-init-PATH-with-system-wide-OpenWrt-path.patch * CC: procd: align early init PATH with rest of OpenWrt Jan 14 13:35:39 kab-el, nbd, witi performance sucks after upgrading to kernel 4.3 Jan 14 13:35:57 wifi speed is under 2Mbps Jan 14 13:36:42 funny enough, flashing same code but compiled with kernel 3.18 gets wifi to ~28Mbps Jan 14 13:36:55 anyway, gotta go Jan 14 13:37:03 really busy with my job Jan 14 13:37:08 talk soon Jan 14 14:25:02 how does the .config system all hang together, when upgrading kernel versions is it mostly ok to copy the old config over, run kernel_menuconfig, save it, and let scripts/kconfig.pl fill in the gaps? Jan 14 14:25:40 yes Jan 14 14:27:58 jow r48237 branches/chaos_calmer/ package/base-files/files/etc/profile package/base-files/files/etc/preinit package/base-files/Makefile package/base-files/files/sbin/hotplug-call * CC: base-files: sanitize and unify $PATH Jan 14 14:28:00 jow r48238 branches/chaos_calmer/ package/base-files/image-config.in package/base-files/Makefile * CC: base-files: use the correct path in case of modified preinit options Jan 14 14:30:15 nbd, ok cool thanks Jan 14 15:01:12 nbd: i think i have accidently rewritten factory mtd on my witi last month Jan 14 15:01:27 can somebody send me a copy of their witi's /dev/mtdblock2 ? Jan 14 15:02:19 i knew that i shouldn't remove the read-only; line in dts :D Jan 14 21:32:35 doh, just updated my xiaomi mini to get the mt76 signal strneght fix, lost the 2.4gig radio. Jan 14 21:32:57 the 5gig migrated settings fine, but the 2.4gig left a broken old config and created a new disabled wifi for the 2.4gig. Jan 14 21:34:00 I guess "option path 10180000.wmac" vs "option path 'platform/10180000.wmac'" confused it? Jan 14 21:35:01 signal strength is fixed though :) **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Jan 15 02:59:59 2016
