**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sat Mar 30 02:59:59 2013 Mar 30 09:38:08 hey please tell me, how can i change my kernel on BeagleBoard-XM. it showing me 3-4 kernels in /lib/modules/* and by uname -r other version. Mar 30 09:38:29 how can i change it. there is no grub in it Mar 30 09:40:11 pritesh: have a look at http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Boot_Sequence to understand how the BeagleBoard-XM boots Mar 30 09:41:18 ok Mar 30 09:55:17 siretart ok i got it, but how can i boot on other kernel Version in u-boot Mar 30 10:06:35 pritesh: you need to install to the partition where uboot can reach it. AFAIUI, this needs to be done manually, but I may also be missing something Mar 30 12:44:42 can ubuntu-arm run on the Ouya :) Mar 30 12:45:07 no, but very likely ubuntu touch can Mar 30 12:45:34 well, the ubuntu arm userspace surely can though Mar 30 13:56:16 I'm kind of hoping that Ouya can run ubuntu as easily as nexus7 can Mar 30 13:57:06 and that ubuntu's normal desktop would suite Ouya's HDMI + usb mouse/keyboard better than what it's on nexus7 with touchscreen Mar 30 13:59:22 it likely will Mar 30 13:59:34 but based on ubuntu-touch first ... Mar 30 13:59:55 I've ordered one and hoping to get it in April Mar 30 14:00:05 (once the convergence mode is available you should be able to just run ubuntu/desktop) Mar 30 14:00:14 well, I'm going to take the nexus7 rootfs and modify it to Ouya Mar 30 14:00:19 * ogra_ hasnt yet ... still pondering Mar 30 14:00:45 I don't like that "running ubuntu on top of android" approach. Even though in some cases it's handy Mar 30 14:01:06 bbl Mar 30 16:21:47 ubuntu-arm desktop on ouya would be awesome i think Mar 30 16:22:20 would need drivers etc Mar 30 16:36:18 whats the ouya using ? tegra4 ? Mar 30 16:37:18 tegra 3 Mar 30 16:37:27 and 1gb of ram Mar 30 16:37:27 ah, that should be a no brainer indeed Mar 30 16:37:30 pretty much nexus 7 Mar 30 16:37:44 i thought i saw them raving about tegra4 Mar 30 16:38:05 I think they wouldn't fit into $99 with tegra4 Mar 30 16:38:17 though afaik nvidia doesnt have a single manufacturer using it yet Mar 30 16:40:22 hah, each of the 4 buttons on the controller is labeled with one of the letters from word ouya Mar 30 16:40:25 that's cute) Mar 30 16:40:55 until microsoft sues them because thats patented :P Mar 30 16:41:39 "four buttons on a controller arrranged in the shape of a cross labelled with letters" Mar 30 16:42:42 (as opposed to snys patent: "four buttons on a controller arrranged in the shape of a cross labelled with things that look like letters but arent") Mar 30 16:42:47 *g* Mar 30 16:42:55 *sonys Mar 30 16:43:32 well, the arrangement is exactly the same as on xbox controller Mar 30 16:43:51 yeah, thats what i was referring to ... Mar 30 16:44:00 americans allow such weird patents Mar 30 16:44:02 no, I mean the little joysticks Mar 30 16:44:10 ah Mar 30 16:44:22 nvidia at least switched those on their shield-thingy) Mar 30 17:03:18 wouldn't nintendo hold that patent... Mar 30 20:56:58 is there any instruction that explains how to compile a kernel for beagleboard (omap3) that I can follow? Mar 31 02:27:07 I installed the ubuntu image from http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu (uname -a > Linux arm 3.7.10-x10 #1 SMP Thu Mar 28 13:45:57 UTC 2013 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux). I enabled buddy=spidev on uEnv.txt and spidev4.0 is enabled on /dev. But https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/spi/spidev_test.c code outputs only FF when I execute it. Is it a wrong command to run? Why spidev does not work? **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sun Mar 31 02:59:59 2013
