**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Jul 02 02:59:58 2013 Jul 02 20:03:08 can someone look over my fstab (http://paste.ubuntu.com/5838350/) and make sure I'm not doing something stupid? I'm trying to preserve the microSD card that my TrimSlice (Precise armhf) uses for it's root fs. Obvously my media and nfs mounts are irrelevant. I'm mainly looking for help with the commented lines at the top of the fstab. It's difficult to troubleshoot because the Trimslice is headless. Jul 02 20:04:34 I've not had a problem with it, I just was hoping for a second pair of eyes to help proofread it before I try to boot with it. Jul 02 20:06:44 benbloom: use ext4 not ext2? Jul 02 20:07:12 benbloom: use tmpfs for /tmp/ Jul 02 20:08:40 hrw: is "tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults,noatime,nodiratime,mode=1777 0 0" correct? Jul 02 20:09:20 none /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0 Jul 02 20:09:23 is what I use Jul 02 20:10:02 noatime etc shoult not be used for tmpfs imho Jul 02 20:11:41 k. I got all that from http://www.mysolutions.it/linux-ssd-solid-state-drive/ . There seems to be a few ways to accomplish this Jul 02 20:12:49 benbloom: align partitions to 4MB for SD cards Jul 02 20:13:59 benbloom: if you plan to have /var/tmp/ as tmpfs then just make it symlink to /tmp/ Jul 02 20:14:57 * hrw off Jul 02 20:16:01 thx **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Wed Jul 03 01:02:05 2013 **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Jul 03 02:59:57 2013
