**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun Aug 01 02:59:57 2010 Aug 01 04:35:57 Umm, a few minutes ago I was having a ton of issues with my Pre that I think could be related to some setting I set in WarthogKernel. I had left my Pre on the touchstone for a while, and when I got it off, it wouldn't let me unlock it. It was still responsive, it let me enter in my passcode, but it would not unlock, even though I'm sure I was typing it correctly. Also, where the battery icon normally is, there was just a s Aug 01 04:36:43 Also, one of my email notifications was screwed up, it was just a black box with white text saying some error, I dont remember what. After I rebooted, this was all fixed, though Aug 01 04:37:03 Right before it happened, I had set my pre to Screenstate 500/720, Swap enabled- 32MB, Anticipatory I/O Scheduler, I had just run EOM Overlord Monitoring, and I set kernel.sched_latency_ns = 600000, kernel.sched_min_granularity_ns = 400000, kernel.sched_features = 24188 Aug 01 04:37:58 I'm pretty sure whatever happened was related to those settings I used. My Pre wasnt overheating either, it was at about 39C Aug 01 04:38:49 And I was using the latest Warthog Kernel, -86 Aug 01 05:55:58 weeee Aug 01 05:56:07 20 minutes till home Aug 01 05:57:42 oh, and going to attempt to swap coms board tomorrow assuming I get easy to follow can't screw up directions regarding token copying Aug 01 06:05:10 * rwhitby waits for halfhalo to screw up his app catalog access and accellerometer settings ... Aug 01 06:06:02 hey... that's why I need instructions; Aug 01 06:06:03 ! Aug 01 06:07:13 there are no easy to follow can't screw up directions for taht Aug 01 06:07:14 got the hardware part down, but still unclear how to exactly extract and build using tokens Aug 01 06:07:50 eh, plain instructions work Aug 01 06:08:33 why is it not on the wiki.... Aug 01 06:09:35 I blame oil. Aug 01 06:11:15 I'm wanting to do thisbefore I crash due to time difference Aug 01 06:12:31 now, I'll probly fall asleep with the pres taken apart on my desk, but still. Aug 01 06:13:02 it's not on the wiki cause the people who have done it previously have not put it on the wiki Aug 01 06:13:23 I personally have not done it. Aug 01 06:14:09 * rwhitby bbl Aug 01 06:26:50 its good to be home... Aug 01 06:27:01 even though it looks like someone tried to use my computers Aug 01 09:12:02 anyone here? Aug 01 12:56:21 rwhitby sup Bro Aug 01 13:01:01 templimiter Aug 01 13:13:06 what Aug 01 13:19:47 bbl Aug 01 13:24:09 ever since i installed the uberkernel my LunaSysMgr seems to have gone crazy Aug 01 13:24:22 it keeps eating cpu like crazy (usually above 50%) Aug 01 17:41:51 * halfhalo still does not know how to copy the tokens Aug 01 17:45:20 cp Aug 01 17:48:05 really… just cp the entire folder? Aug 01 18:03:12 at least you will have a copy of it Aug 01 18:03:45 if you really want to know, look inside meta doctor, I believe rwhitby has code in there. Aug 01 18:08:50 Well, I got them, now i need to stuck em into a doctor, so looking at metadoctor makefile Aug 01 18:09:06 not finding anything, but hell, I'm trying Aug 01 18:25:29 olerukfg Aug 01 18:25:39 now I get to deal with dead car Aug 01 18:40:16 ok, now I need to run to radio shack, but first, how the hell do I build a doctor with the tokens Aug 01 20:12:03 hello! Aug 01 22:03:43 hi Aug 01 22:05:47 i was told that WebOS is based on Debian, so i'd like to know how can i install dpkg && apt-get Aug 01 22:06:15 IIRC ipkg replaces those Aug 01 22:08:26 halfhalo: and is ipkg compatible with debian repositories ? Aug 01 22:08:34 nope Aug 01 22:09:02 but it does have the optware repo which has stuff built for it Aug 01 22:09:27 and considering most stuff in the debian repos will not work... Aug 01 22:10:31 yes of course, but i was thinking that maybe i can install some of the gstreamer libs and so that my pre would read avi files :) Aug 01 22:11:37 (or things like mplayer, zsh, ...) Aug 01 22:11:43 nope Aug 01 22:11:46 been tried Aug 01 22:11:56 :/ Aug 01 22:17:20 webos is based on openembedded, which makes a debian like distro Aug 01 22:18:49 YOUR based on openembedded! Aug 01 22:19:29 wait… what? Aug 01 22:19:42 ? Aug 01 22:19:54 * halfhalo is crazy Aug 01 22:21:36 still dont know how to recompile a doctor with ze tokens... Aug 01 22:35:17 i can't understand thoses commands: GESTURE+[0-9] Aug 01 22:35:45 what should i do ? (i'm trying to move cursor in vi in me Terminal) Aug 01 22:48:33 gogaz: by way of familiar and intimate Aug 01 22:50:10 I mean openembedded comes from debian by way of familiar and intimate, then openzaurus, then finally openembedded Aug 01 22:50:30 but you use ipkg, not dpkg for package management, though the package format itself is compatible Aug 01 22:51:28 rwhitby and others added some features to webOS (the webOS internals project basically) to allow for additional packages from the optware repos also controlled with ipkg Aug 01 22:51:47 ok Aug 01 22:52:59 yes in fact i've seen that ipkg files are similar to .deb Aug 01 22:54:05 tmzt: (and do you know how's working Terminal ? i can't understand commands that allow me to move up/down/right/left/whatever Aug 01 22:54:21 up Aug 01 22:54:26 you have been eaten by a grue Aug 01 22:54:28 I'm not familiar with actually using a webOS device Aug 01 23:08:07 anyone know how to upload an image to the webos-internals wiki? Aug 01 23:09:46 nvm found it, im blind **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon Aug 02 00:31:44 2010 **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Aug 02 00:36:14 2010 Aug 02 00:39:16 I have 2 quick questions about luna Aug 02 00:41:45 Hopefully someone can answer them. First "luna-send -n 1 palm://com.palm.applicationManager/rescan {}" The "com.palm...." part should be the name of the application how come I cant find application manager or sys manager in /usr/palm or in /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications Aug 02 00:44:49 apt-get install rwhitby Aug 02 00:45:07 help? Aug 02 00:46:20 Bad time? Aug 02 00:48:57 those are apps listening on the bus, not necessarily apps that exist in those paths Aug 02 02:33:27 linux 2.6.35 is out... maybe palm will rebase for webos 2.0 =) Aug 02 02:36:31 how difficult do you think it would be for you to get it up and running (minus the modules) given the current linux patches released ? Aug 02 02:36:47 near to impossible Aug 02 02:37:11 since the current in use kernel 2.6.24 is so old Aug 02 02:37:20 and pretty far off from what the tree looks like today Aug 02 02:37:37 i'm hopeful that palm is using a newer kernel at some point Aug 02 02:38:06 i didn't realize the driver implementations have changed so much Aug 02 02:38:12 and TI has been steadily merging with mainline so newer kernels should be much closer and easier to merge with mainline Aug 02 02:39:55 so it would be fantastic if the eventual new palm kernel is regularly rebased to mainline + arm trees Aug 02 02:40:29 android does a good job of following recent trees but they are not so good with merging it upstream Aug 02 02:41:01 some long threads on that if you search on lwn.net **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon Aug 02 02:59:57 2010
