Oct 16 09:41:23 so my palm is charging, where can i start the hack ? installing uber kernel ? Meta doctor ? Oct 16 10:41:58 grmmmm Oct 16 10:42:10 i got an error on making meta docor Oct 16 10:42:12 http://pastebin.com/8gQaYBR7 Oct 16 10:42:19 any idea ? Oct 16 11:30:58 zobi8225: i think webosdoctorp224pre2-wr-2.2.4.jar is broken, download again should fix this. Oct 16 12:52:04 nop Oct 16 12:52:10 i find the proble,e Oct 16 12:52:21 it is in the makefile Oct 16 12:53:16 a the line 240 , the version number is false Oct 16 12:53:21 i change it Oct 16 12:53:31 (sorry for my bad english) Oct 16 13:11:44 hmm my Oct 16 13:12:08 my phone ask me the the unblock code ... Oct 16 13:21:45 and do you know how to change the layout keyboard ? i got an azerty keyboard, and i have install an qwerty keyboard with webos :-( Oct 16 13:29:40 dunno, i don't use azerty keyboard layout. maybe someone else could help you :) Oct 16 13:31:42 panda-z: on the wiki, they say it is permanantly Oct 16 13:32:11 so i will build re-install it Oct 16 15:11:18 it is so cool Oct 16 15:11:26 i am really happy ! Oct 16 15:11:40 what is the "must have" app i need on webos ? Oct 16 15:14:25 what is the best shell ? Oct 16 15:23:05 zobi8225: you should most certainly install Preware. Then install Xecutah, XServer and Xterm. Oct 16 15:23:35 punkfloyd: i have already installed Preware Oct 16 15:25:11 zobi8225: http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Application:Xecutah Oct 16 15:26:20 punkfloyd: it is crazy to think i can have a realy linux on my phone Oct 16 15:27:14 zobi8225: webOS itself is already "really linux" ;) Oct 16 15:27:49 punkfloyd: yea, but before i was on android, and people said me it was a linux too , but you know... Oct 16 15:31:42 zobi8225: yeah i know :D Oct 16 15:50:50 I like wTerm better than xTerm. It's easier to use, especially the tab button is very handy, and seems lighter (starts much faster). Oct 16 15:51:14 Garfonso: ok i will test, thx ! Oct 16 15:52:35 Garfonso: yep, that's the intent/purpose of wTerm. And I say that as main dev for the x11/xterm stuff, and also as a main contributor to wterm :) Oct 16 15:52:55 (xterm has better compat in a number of cases, but when wterm is sufficient I strongly recommend using it instead) Oct 16 15:57:09 and for the music player, with one is the best ? Oct 16 15:59:22 yeah, I have wTerm and xTerm both on the device. I'd recommend that, too. :) Oct 16 15:59:30 is wTerm still developed? or again or so? Oct 16 15:59:43 for music players it depends a bit on your needs. Oct 16 16:00:45 I'm again using music player remix, which is the most feature rich player. Amigo can be nice, too, because it really is much lighter than remix. Oct 16 16:01:06 ok Oct 16 16:01:11 thanks Oct 16 16:01:24 i will test them Oct 16 16:05:43 actually I used the stock music player also and it's ok. The worst thing is, that it does not really support random play. I'm pretty sure it's not seeding a random number generator or something like that. If you say "play everything random", it will always start the exact same playlist and because it won't save the list, you listen to the same few songs over and over again everytime you restart the app... ;) Oct 16 16:10:29 Garfonso: don't think anyone's done any dev work for wTerm for quite a while, no. :) Oct 16 16:21:57 and what is the best twitter client ? Oct 16 16:23:39 I think that's a question which you can easily start a war on in webOS land... there are MANY twitter clients. One kind of app we really have more than enough of... Oct 16 16:25:25 a year (or so) ago Carbon was the thing to go... I quite like it still... before that I already had Twee which was quite ok, too. Currently Neo is creating some buzz, but has not really arrived. phnx (or so?) and spaz are popular free ones. There even is a patch to integrate twitter into messaging. ;) Oct 16 16:25:35 I never used the latter one, I must admit. Oct 16 16:27:08 ok Oct 16 16:27:11 thanks Oct 16 19:22:04 zobi8225: Garfonso: I prefer Project Macaw (it is the continued development of phnx). It is very very open. :) Oct 16 19:48:06 does webos use gnu libc or does it have its own? Oct 16 19:48:30 gnu Oct 16 20:07:39 so doesn't it make writing apps difficutl as they are linked against glibc and they need to be distributed under GNU license? Oct 16 20:08:49 lgpl Oct 16 20:08:52 not gpl Oct 16 20:09:51 hmm... in that case why did anroid rewrite their libc? Oct 16 20:22:14 you mean bionic? **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Oct 17 03:00:01 2012
