Regular reboots of Luna Next (already reported). 3. Cannot swipe up Preware 2, seems like I can only swipe up by holding header, not by holding anything below header, so cannot close it. Nov 15 08:00:15 hello everyone Nov 15 08:09:26 hiya EricBlade Nov 15 08:13:36 hey ka6sox Nov 15 08:16:29 howdy bhuey.... Nov 15 08:16:59 why is my HTML failing me...I only took a 30minute class during HTML3 days... Nov 15 08:17:40 morning Nov 15 08:22:09 morning morphis Nov 15 08:22:24 ka6sox: http://validator.w3.org ? Nov 15 08:22:49 Does the trick for getting proper HTML similar to jslint.com for JS :) Nov 15 08:23:05 thanks Nov 15 08:23:27 checking Nov 15 08:23:54 Always used that one back in the day for proper HTML, when no errors there it normally works on pretty much any browser :) Nov 15 08:24:50 Besides the browser specific quirks like there used to be tons in IE6 for example... Used to develop for Mozilla as main, then adjust accordingly for other browsers. Was easier than other way around ;) Nov 15 08:25:18 with all the server side scripting stuff its way more complicated Nov 15 08:27:05 Yes :'( Nov 15 09:16:35 ka6sox: how's it going ? Nov 15 09:16:46 kernel hacking over here making good progress. I'm happy Nov 15 09:17:27 very nice...its starting to slow down a bit here. Nov 15 09:17:30 finally Nov 15 09:17:35 so I'm doing okay Nov 15 09:20:43 bhuey, which kernel? Anything of interest to us :P ? Nov 15 09:37:18 once a kernel hacker, always a kernel hacker Nov 15 09:37:39 yup Nov 15 09:37:51 except me. i gave that shiz up after my second patch submission to the kernel got reverted Nov 15 09:38:26 it worked on *my* cpu lol Nov 15 09:39:22 the kernel is a wierd place... Nov 15 09:39:36 and we only hear about the 1% nonsense Nov 15 09:39:54 not the 99% that gets worked. Nov 15 09:51:37 well back then i was the 1% that had a dual CPU machine. actually probably more like 0.01% Nov 15 09:54:03 SMP Baybee Nov 15 10:29:39 Herrie|Work|Veer: no :) Nov 15 10:30:00 I'd hack on the Palm kernels but it's kind of silly Nov 15 11:09:45 03:09:25 up 37 min, 1 user, load average: 8583131987.96, 8540274693.14, 7028662887.21 Nov 15 13:40:29 simon, you here? Nov 15 13:43:32 morphis? Nov 15 14:16:43 HaDAk: yes Nov 15 14:17:06 Sören Müller has been writing to me Nov 15 14:17:21 he wants to write an article about the work we've been doing Nov 15 14:17:27 wants to include the script i wrote (or a link to it) Nov 15 14:17:45 he had a couple of questions though Nov 15 14:17:55 Hi, Nov 15 14:17:56 thank for the explanation! Yeah, download verfication via md5 would be great. Nov 15 14:17:56 Are you sure it's alpha2? Because the only alpha2 I see here http://build.webos-ports.org/alpha2/ is for the Galaxy Nexus, Nov 15 14:17:56 while the images for Nexus 7 are in staging: http://build.webos-ports.org/webos-ports-staging/latest/images/grouper/ Nov 15 14:17:56 So I would like to write my article about whatever version of Open webOS this weekend, should I publish your installer? Or would you like to keep in private? I would encourage our readers to give you feedback of course! Nov 15 14:18:06 (sorry to spam) Nov 15 14:18:08 i replied to him: Nov 15 14:18:11 Hi Sören, Nov 15 14:18:11 Lots of good questions here… Nov 15 14:18:11 I'm working with the Ports team to get them to automatically generate an md5sum when the build is completed -- so I can grab the checksum and compare, make sure the file downloaded matches, etc. They haven't implemented that yet, so my script doesn't support it yet. Nov 15 14:18:11 The image that it's downloading right now is a nightly build. It's pre-Alpha2, I believe. I'd have to check with Simon (morphis) to be sure, though. There's a switch in the script to use the "stable" instead of the staging feed, but since there isn't one yet, it fails. I think my logic in the script assumes that the file isn't there…so at a bare minimum that needs to be cleaned up before I ship it out. Nov 15 14:18:11 I've also been asked to add in switches or logic to detect what device you've got plugged in, so this can be more universal than for just the Nexus 7. I'm going to try to work on that next week, I think. Once I've got that all worked out, it'll be pushed up to github -- and that's what file you should link to. Nov 15 14:18:12 So, an article will be great -- but let's do this right, and let me get a few kinks worked out of the script first. Can we give it another week, or two at the latest? Nov 15 14:18:12 Hans Nov 15 14:22:22 HaDAk: can you forward me the mail so I can directly reply in line? Nov 15 14:22:37 what's your email? Nov 15 14:40:51 morning Nov 15 14:41:09 Tofe: morning Nov 15 14:42:08 Herrie: yes, for point 1., the path of the icon is wrong, I'll fix that Nov 15 14:47:50 HaDAk: give me some time to answe Nov 15 14:48:06 morphis: no worries Nov 15 14:48:13 Tofe: do we still need the handling of the transient parent? Nov 15 14:48:13 morphis: tiny one: https://github.com/webOS-ports/luna-next-cardshell/pull/42 Nov 15 14:48:32 morphis: no, I'll remove that. Nov 15 14:48:34 Tofe: merged Nov 15 14:48:40 thx Nov 15 14:48:46 Tofe: I found at least one crash because of that Nov 15 14:48:58 ok, good reason to remove it then :) Nov 15 14:50:16 for sure :) Nov 15 15:04:00 Done, I've pushed the two PR Nov 15 15:04:27 merged both Nov 15 15:05:01 ok, now let's move to this famous focus thing Nov 15 16:20:11 Tofe: you found already something? Nov 15 16:21:28 well, it's a bit more complex than just a missing FocusScope in qml Nov 15 16:21:45 right now, here is the bug I'm analyzing: Nov 15 16:21:58 I am in the Memos app Nov 15 16:22:54 I click in the title field, the keyboard shows up. If I type text and then click outside of the field, the keyboard will be closed. But if I don't interact with the keyboard, nothing will be called in maliit when I focus-out the title field Nov 15 16:25:34 The keyboard shouldn't have the focus, right ? Nov 15 16:38:01 morphis/Tofe/garfonso: TouchPlayer might be a good start for a media player? Open source based on FFmpeg and sources available at http://github.com/error454 Nov 15 16:38:20 Hasn't been updated for 2 years but better than starting from scratch? Nov 15 16:45:43 looks good Nov 15 16:46:04 well, didn't find any screenshot, but that would be a start bsae Nov 15 16:46:06 base* Nov 15 16:55:14 I'll put in on my TP and make some screenshots :) Nov 15 19:07:09 scoutcamper: ping Nov 15 19:41:56 morphis: https://github.com/webOS-ports/webos-keyboard/pull/2 <-- as far as I can see, it fixes our problem. But I'm wondering if hide() isn't called too often now. Nov 15 20:30:23 scoutcamper-away: ping Nov 15 20:39:06 Anyone else who can do magic @ server for Wiki? Seems like Scoutcamper is not really available? Nov 15 20:39:16 Tried to get a hold of him for over a week, but no reply? Nov 15 21:03:03 Herrie: sorry, I don't have any special access on the server Nov 15 21:26:13 Need someone to install an extension ;) Nov 15 21:26:37 ka6sox: Can you do or LarrySteeze maybe? Not sure who has access? Nov 15 21:31:48 Herrie, what do you need installed? Nov 15 21:36:24 https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:StringUtils Nov 15 21:37:39 Need to do some manipulation of device names (Grouper to grouper etc) Nov 15 21:37:47 This is needed for that ;) Nov 15 21:45:28 Herrie, i will do this after work today, it should be available when you get up. Nov 15 22:34:42 ka6sox: thnx Nov 16 02:19:25 Herrie, done Nov 16 02:27:23 hey ka6sox Nov 16 02:28:51 hiya, pretty tired...trying to breathe... **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sat Nov 16 02:59:59 2013
