**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Jan 07 02:59:56 2019 Jan 07 07:16:07 Morning! Jan 07 07:16:56 New builder is assembled and posting, temps seem OK, all hardware seems to work, however so far haven't been able to succeed with Kubuntu installation. Tried 16.04, 18.04 and 18.10. All seem to lock up after the WiFi screen. Not sure if it's Kubuntu or something with the PC Jan 07 07:17:05 I guess I'll try some Win10 installation tonight to see if that one installs Jan 07 07:17:12 It could be CPU is getting too hot somehow Jan 07 07:19:27 Got 2 14cm fans on the cooler, but they're on low RPM, could be I need to put them on high RPM instead. Need to play around a bit I guess Jan 07 07:19:54 Also will get a GPU with 19W TDP instead of 75W TDP, that might help a bit as well Jan 07 07:20:15 Seeing I'm stuck with my 650W PSU for now, it doesn't hurt to reduce the TDP for the GPU I guess Jan 07 07:21:52 Had guests on both days during the weekend, so didn't have much time to tinker yet. Just put it together yesterday morning ;) Jan 07 08:21:45 Morning ! Jan 07 08:22:37 Herrie|Laptop: if you're going to use it for builds, you'd better be confident about the cooling yes :) Jan 07 08:23:23 Tofe: Yeah, well I guess I could up the RPM's. The case fan was running at around 900 RPM, the both CPU ones on 500-ish Jan 07 08:23:33 Temperatures were OK-ish I would say, but not sure Jan 07 08:23:39 Didn't have much time to tinker really Jan 07 08:31:19 I'll try to remove the Y-cable that throttles the CPU fans, so they'll run at higher RPM, that won't hurt for sure Jan 07 09:30:11 Tofe: android ramdisk didn't help much. i moved panic to https://github.com/webOS-ports/meta-webos-ports/blob/master/meta-luneos/recipes-core/initrdscripts/initramfs-boot-android/init.sh#L121 , so that halium doesn't affect it, and have same error: enable_store: android_usb: already disabled Jan 07 09:45:25 maybe adb doesn't work in panic for LuneOS too...? Jan 07 10:07:02 nizovn: that is very possible Jan 07 12:22:07 morning Jan 07 12:52:14 ok, i now have limited (non-root) adb access, it turned out functionfs should be mounted with uid=2000,gid=2000, and also need to mount devpts Jan 07 13:02:47 nizovn: ah, that's good to know Jan 07 13:20:46 We should be able to set that in recipes? Jan 07 13:22:17 there is not much sense, as it's very limited, i can't even reboot Jan 07 14:41:42 however dmesg seems to work, i'll PR this sometime... Jan 07 14:42:12 have root access now using "empty-root-password" IMAGE_FEATURE Jan 07 15:04:15 nizovn: if panic adb didn't work at all before, having a simple user access is better than nothing Jan 07 15:05:42 ok Jan 07 18:25:52 morning Jan 07 21:05:03 JaMa: Is that my tissot's MAC address? Not any more! I was just going to say "No", but then I found it in my router's DHCP history. Jan 07 21:06:17 Strange that it has changed, but my NAS box has a couple that it switches between, so perhaps something like that is going on. Jan 07 21:08:29 elvispre: it's written in your persist partition, so it was set at least at the time you did the backup for me Jan 07 21:08:48 and if it changes then you have (some) issue with the phone Jan 07 21:09:13 it should be constant and match with the MAC written on the phone box Jan 07 21:09:37 my box was rather bare with just the phone without charger and doesn't have the label with IMEI/MAC Jan 07 21:09:48 and the S/N written there doesn't match with what I see in phone Jan 07 21:10:01 will probably remove back cover to double check my IMEI Jan 07 22:06:59 JaMa: My Mi A1 box has a label with two IMEIs and a S/N. I'll try to check those against what the device itself says. Jan 07 22:08:08 I have flashed the device to stock, let it upgrade to Oreo and then flashed back stock and installed LuneOS since I took the backup you have. Jan 07 22:13:15 Hmmm. The LuneOS device info app shows a serial number with no relationship to what's on my box label, but for all I know that could be a hard-wired value in the app. Jan 07 22:21:20 I need to buy new bit for pentalobe P2 screws to remove the back cover :) Jan 07 22:22:09 I have only some weird size pentalobe, it's 5/64" (2mm), bigger than biggest standard PL6 :) Jan 07 22:25:55 with your backup I can bypass downgrade protection from PIE, but it breaks baseband/imei for me, so now I've upgraded to PIE again, took QCN backup with my EFS now trying to downgrade again, first with my EFS (then restore QCN backup to see if it fixes the bootloop) and if not then with your EFS and then restore QCN backup with QPST (to see if it fixes the IMEI issue) :) Jan 07 22:26:20 back to the W10 :/ **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Jan 08 02:59:57 2019
