**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Nov 17 02:59:56 2020 Nov 17 09:25:59 Morning! Nov 17 09:40:18 morning Nov 17 09:51:52 Why is the PinePhone not listed under either official supported devices nor unofficial ports? Nov 17 09:53:39 linux_unix-10: I think we just forgot to add it Nov 17 09:54:26 oh Nov 17 09:57:00 What are the underlying causes behind calls and SMS not working for tissot? Nov 17 09:57:30 Asking since I do own one and have been considering trying out LuneOS on it. Nov 17 09:59:18 linux_unix-10: it was a pulseaudio profile selection issue; but that should be fixed now; for SMS, I'm not sure of the status, to be honest, I didn't test it lately... Herrie, did you? Nov 17 10:56:51 Herrie: do you know how to debug this ? https://www.webos-ports.org/wiki/Pinephone_Info Nov 17 11:07:17 linux_unix-10: SMS should work really Nov 17 11:07:24 Tofe: Yeah I know how to edit that I guess Nov 17 11:07:28 It works with templates Nov 17 11:09:51 You would need to add something similar to: https://webos-ports.org/index.php?title=Template:Device_Hammerhead&action=edit Nov 17 11:11:44 Herrie: I already did all these steps Nov 17 11:13:35 Herrie: ah, now it works, I just removed the tip at the beginning of the Pinephone template Nov 17 11:13:39 I fixed it ;) It's case sensitive ;) https://www.webos-ports.org/index.php?title=Pinephone_Info&type=revision&diff=10622&oldid=10617 Nov 17 11:14:32 Herrie: hey, I did a copy/paste of the step-by-step guide :p Nov 17 11:15:16 That needs updating then Nov 17 11:15:24 I copied it from working Hammerhead Nov 17 11:15:38 is it the same typo for the other steps ? Nov 17 11:16:11 Not sure... Nov 17 11:16:19 Which page you used? Nov 17 11:16:47 Install_LuneOS_for_Pinephone, etc Nov 17 11:17:16 ah, sorry, you meant for the guide Nov 17 11:17:25 it's the guide at the end of the Devices page Nov 17 11:17:54 https://webos-ports.org/index.php?title=Devices&action=edit§ion=2 Nov 17 11:18:02 I guess I fixed the capitalization at some point and forgot to update that ;) Nov 17 11:18:02 I fixed the info part Nov 17 11:18:14 Great Nov 17 11:18:26 Probably the same issue for the other bits Nov 17 11:20:39 fixed as well Nov 17 11:21:48 I'll have to update the install part for Pinephone, it's based on adb, which is incorrect Nov 17 11:22:13 Easy enough fix in the end Nov 17 11:22:35 Yes you might want to look into how it was done for Tenderloin Nov 17 11:22:47 We created something separate there Nov 17 11:26:20 yes, I'll look at that one; but right now it's still really not user-friendly to flash something for pinephone... Apart if you're flashing a sdcard, which is ok Nov 17 12:04:44 Is it not possible to use Jumpdrive for flashing to the PinePhone eMMC? Nov 17 12:10:42 https://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/PinePhone_Installation_Instructions Nov 17 13:21:53 linux_unix-10: yes, that should work Nov 17 13:22:39 I usually mount my sdcard and flash it, but anything that exposes a harddrive in linux will do Nov 17 13:23:20 Good to know, as I may try to get the PinePhone KDE CE when it become available for pre-order. Nov 17 13:23:28 *becomes Nov 17 13:23:46 ok :) Nov 17 13:24:49 If someone has the time, perhaps the Device Status page could be updated to reflect more current development progress: Nov 17 13:24:50 https://www.webos-ports.org/wiki/Device_Status Nov 17 13:27:48 I'm looking at the installation steps for tissot and it links to a non-existent page: Nov 17 13:27:48 https://forums.webosnation.com/luneo...ml#post3454659 Nov 17 13:30:04 linux_unix-10: Ehm I should have added that one a long time ago... Nov 17 13:30:14 Basically you will need Android 7.1.2 on it... Nov 17 13:30:42 And twrp-3.2.1-0-tissot.img Nov 17 13:31:50 This should work: https://forums.webosnation.com/luneos/332313-pivotce-luneos-november-stable-release-doppio.html#post3454659 Nov 17 14:05:44 Already have TWRP installed on the phone itself. Nov 17 14:06:49 is it ok to use that or does it really have to be a temporary recovery image that needs to be used? Nov 17 15:45:44 linux_unix-10: it should be fine. But notice that tissot uses the A/B partitionning, which means there isn't any dedicated recovery partition anymore; in LuneOS we now include a copy of TWRP in the kernel image itself, and start it when the Vol+ button is pressed. Nov 17 15:47:22 that's why, on tissot, the twrp installation is a 2-step process: 1.run a temporary twrp image directly from fastboot, in order to flash a kernel+twrp image, and 2. start in "recovery mode", with the twrp that was concatenated with the kernel Nov 17 15:48:13 but a luneos flash can be done from either of them, it's the same software **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Nov 18 03:02:03 2020
